I remember something my mother told me once, she said "They {Israel and
the Palestinians} have been fighting over that little piece of land for years and years.
They will probably fight forever.

Israel could FIT into the state of FLORIDA---EIGHT TIMES!
It is tiny!!!!!!!!!!!!
263 miles long – North to South
Width: between 9 and 71 miles wide (East to West)
Many people just have NO idea what a tiny little country it is.

Is the situation in the Middle East a forever conflict.
Many people believe we could be in Iraq forever {another thread I know}.

I am not asking which side you are on, or why.
I am asking do you think Israel and the Palestinians will EVER really stop fighting?
I don't mean for a few months or a year or so.

Do you really think they will EVER stop fighting?
How much should the USA get involved?

Will Israel and Palestine ever stop fighting, hmmm, nope, they will continue to squabble ad finitum. Should the USA get involved, and for that matter, the rest of the western world, nope, keep out of it, though I expect they won't, oil interets in the area, too much to risk, and an excuse to get involved.

Maybe if the west and the rest of the Arab world kept out of it, and let them squabble, take out any people who don't want to be involved, starve each country of really serious weapons, and let them go for it, turn the area into rubble. By which time, maybe the Arab world and the west might have moved on, accomodated some difficulties on either side and sorted out an understanding coexistence. When all is said and done in the rubble that was Palestine/Israel, nothing else left to lob at each other and no one left to be lobbed at, the refugees can move back in and live peacefully together.

I am hoping against hope, that ONE person might actually feel
that they might one day, STOP fighting.

The fact that I have never heard anyone say that, speaks volumes.

I hope everyday that they do. In fact I wish the human race would evolve enough that war wasn't a requirement. However as long as people are uneducated, oppressed and greedy these times will not end.

But I hope.

I can't work up much in the way of curiousity about whether the Israelies and Palestinians will ever stop fighting - after all, they've been doing so for a few thousand years, which is understandable considering the history of the area - it'll likely go on forever, or at least until humanity has managed to completely exterminate itself from the planet........

No, I think that the fighting will continue until a large proportion of both sides are in smoldering ruin.

My opinion is that the US, other nations and the U.N. should offer humanitarian aid and diplomacy working through negotiations to create and maintain cease fires when tensions erupt periodically.

I doubt it.
And I'm on no-one's "side."
I'm not Jewish or Palistinian so it doesn't mean anything to me.
I just don't want to give them anymore of our Taxdollars to keep fighting with.
We keep hearing what a great "allie" Israel is, why?
What have they ever done for the U.S.?
Everyone's our "allie" when they're cashing our foreign aid checks, aren't they?

The idea that Jews and Palestinains have been fighting each other over the region for thousands of years is really ridiculous, it has no basis in History at all. from around 1000BC or so untill 70 AD the Area was unquestionably Jewish, Pre 1000 BC there were others there, but they were not modern Arabs or "Palestinians". From 70 AD to 1948 there was no Isreal, and they were not fighting Palestinains over land. The Jews at that time were spread across Europe and the Islamic lands living as Second class (at best) citizens. In the Islamic lands it was a law called Dhimi, which was an Apartied system, go read about the Dhimi laws if you are not familiar with it. Most Westerners are not.

IF the Palestinains had not been ruled by crooks and thugs, going back at least as far as WW2, when Al Hussani, the 14th heriditary Mufti of Jerusalem was an actuall Nazi, joined the SS and toured Europe supporting Hitler and his Scientific Solution to the Jew Problem, there would be peace now.

The idea that the Jews and Palestinains could live in peace is just as ridiculous as the idea that the French and Germans could live in peace. There is far more history of War and Hatred between France and Germany, than Isreal and the Palestinians.

Would Americans ever stop fighting, if their country had been gradually colonised from 19th century onwards by people from Europe, who then took over the whole country in 1948 and drove the Americans into the rocky mountains? There have always been Jews in Palestine, living peacefully with the Arabs, Jews had a much better life in Muslim countries than in Christian countries until the 18th century or so, they were often trusted advisors to the sultans, scientists, doctors, etc. The majority of modern Israeli Jews are of European origin.
As in all racial/religious conflicts, a vicious circle develops because both peoples turn to more fanatical leaders rather than peacemakers, who are seen as sell-outs. It takes a very great man, like Mandela, to make peace in such a situation, and such individuals are uncommon.
The conflict will in any case continue as long as America gives unconditional support to Israel, which Obama fully intends doing. He can't stop supporting Israel because the Israel lobby in USA will then proclaim that he is really a Muslim himself, turning Christians against him.
Someone asked what has Isral ever done for the USA? Nothing, of course. But they have the most powerful political lobby in America, hence nobody except Louis Farrakhan can afford to alienate them.

Wil they ever stop fighting? Anything is possible however if you look at history---not anytime in our lifetimes I'm sure.

Is it our business--No. There are some conflicts with issues we can never comprehend and we need to stay out of them. To the world we are like a toddler trying to enter the ring of a boxing match.

Basically we are clueless to the concept of generations being raised, ingrained with hate as part of their religion, culture, life.

Both countries really ought to get over themself. They both are antagonistic and it gets old to those of us who have no interest in that piece of land. so today, lets hope each of the 2 sides deletes every last boorish, uncouth neanderthal.

I don't like all the sacrefices...but by times..it hope it just would escalate ..and 1 group will survive...so the crap stops.
But the question is...will it stop..
(personally I blame them both...but I get a little tired of always victimizing the Palestines)

You are certainly correct that the land involved in the Israel and Palestinian conflict has had various owners throughout history. One could ask, who really owns the land in many countries?
Most Americans could look in the mirror and ask themselves, who was in this country first?
Who RIGHTFULLY could/should be able to lay claim to most of America?

The more recent conflicts involving Arab riots and Jewish immigration seems to have begun in earnest around 1920.
The Arab-Israeli conflict has been going on for certainly almost 100 years, and for MANY that would qualify as years and years and soon to be over 100 years of conflict.

I would say the Arab-Israeli conflict has been going on for a lot longer than 100 years and no I don't see an end in sight. As to the US helping Israel out, yes I think it is a good thing and should continue.

Just,

I blame both as well.

When I worked on i80, both of these groups were IMPOSSIBLE to make happy. They each were so sure they were being screwed.

The 2nd most difficult group were those from New Jersey. (sorry, but that is my experience)

Since 'Palestinians didn't exist prior to 1947 this statement is 'prima facia' accurate. By that token any conflict with Christians, can only go back about 2100 years. Israeli / Muslim conflict is more recent by 600 years.

However if you take a tour of the area and any guide, from either side, will tell you there has been dispute over the area between Jews, and other indigenous people going back to the beginning of recorded history. Who started it and who is to blame is contingent upon the ancestry of the tour guides If you need a reference source to that fact - read the old testament of the Bible.

Having only 225 years of history it is difficult for any person who has lived all their life in the USA to relate to living in an area where resentment and hatred go back for 100's of generations ALL having lived in this compressed area. Compound that contempt breeding familiarity with the fact that many of their ancestors died in conflicts with the other side and you have a battle that will be fought in perpetuity or until the complete annihilation of the other side.

There can be no peace.

being that the British Empire has America in numerous wars since 1913, the take over of the US by transnational bankers; USA is no angel. In fact, we are the most ...society that ever existed! We "order" others to fall in line with globalism. When they resist, we pull the plug on them. Under globalism, the tribe is robbed of wealth. If a tribe is robbed by too much %, said tribe resorts to terrorism.

I view the Palestinians as people who have been robbed. All one has to do is look at the bank accounts of both groups.

The thing is, no group, no people, no tribe, is immune from the forces of the globalists. (the ruling elite who arent any particular ethnic or country)

Israel instigates some of the violence. Check out the water allocation. one house has swimming pools and water fountains, the next has no water. You got troops who walk on the roof all nigh long with guns.

What would YOU do? People do desperate things when they are cold hungry and tired.

We all have to get along. When dis-equilibrium hits a certain point, then apple carts get tipped over.

In the meantime, the rest of the world when they talk about peace as FAKE. We the US arm both sides in many conflicts. Welcome to empire. Your tribe is now irrelevant.
