Well, ElectraGlide it took the second hint and some research for me to get it.

New quote...

"My pet, resting's the sort of thing you've got to work up to gradually... very dangerous to rest all of a sudden."

intenze -> RE: What movie is this quote from? (7/28/2009 9:14:57 AM)

OH ! OH! Cary Grant omg...Topper!

fluffypet61 -> RE: What movie is this quote from? (7/28/2009 9:17:05 AM)

YES!

It's your turn, intenze.

intenze -> RE: What movie is this quote from? (7/28/2009 9:29:26 AM)

mmmmmmmmmmmmm Love Cary Grant!
ok ...
"Heck, I reckon you wouldn't even be human beins if you didn't have some pretty strong personal feelings about nuclear combat"

Dr. Strangelove! That's a line only Slim Pickens could utter!

intenze -> RE: What movie is this quote from? (7/28/2009 7:57:51 PM)

Spot on Panda! That is one of my favorite movies!

Spot on Panda!

Well... yes. I have many spots. All of us pandas do. We can't help it. There's no reason to get personal about it.

At any rate... it's my turn to post, spots and all!

"Any time you wanna go into town, I'll ride right along with ya. I'm a soldier, who's done fightin' in real battles!"

fluffypet61 -> RE: What movie is this quote from? (7/31/2009 2:31:57 PM)

A hint please, Panda.

ThatDamnedPanda -> RE: What movie is this quote from? (7/31/2009 8:49:06 PM)

Hmmm... well,  it's a Western, obviously. Probably my favorite one. Set in the post-Civil War era. The actor who played the bad guy was a former professional boxer and Purple Heart veteran; this was one of his first films, and his chilling, menacing performance made him such a big star he changed his name (slightly) to something more manly. It was the last film he made under his full real name.

Here's another quote -

"People don't usually talk to me that way!"

"I'm talkin' to you that way!"

intenze -> RE: What movie is this quote from? (7/31/2009 9:48:42 PM)

Shane?

You got it! Nice work. Classic western; the 1st film (I believe) of Stevens' so-called "American Trilogy", the other 2 being "A Place In The Sun" and "Giant." And the last film in which "Walter Jack Palance" is credited. Now it's your turn!

intenze -> RE: What movie is this quote from? (8/1/2009 4:45:34 AM)

ok an easy one:
"You just got lesson number one: don't think; it can only hurt the ball club"

sunshinemiss -> RE: What movie is this quote from? (8/1/2009 8:20:34 AM)

That's from Bull Durham!

My quote *in case I"m right....*

"I killed the clerk."

ThatDamnedPanda -> RE: What movie is this quote from? (8/1/2009 9:41:20 AM)

And, in case you're right - which I believe you are - that's from "My Cousin Vinny."

sunshinemiss -> RE: What movie is this quote from? (8/1/2009 12:25:10 PM)

Ahhh panda, you are patient and smart!  You are right!!!!! (LOVE me some Joe Pesci - he is one crazy *Insert bad word*... )

Nah, I'm just patient and addicted to movies. You and I can work out a division of labor, if you like - you drool over Joe Pesci, and I'll take care of gazing at Marisa Tomei. Between the two of us, we should be able to cover 'em both.

I was sort waiting for confirmation from Intenze, she of the utterly adorable avatar, but perhaps she forgot she was the last quoter. She can smack me upside the head if I'm jumping the gun, but I'll go ahead without her, because I know that you were right about "Bull Durham."

"In these early stages, the symptoms of radiation are identical to the symptoms of panic."

Musicmystery -> RE: What movie is this quote from? (8/1/2009 11:41:53 PM)

Actually, it's "In these early stages, the symptoms of radiation sickness and the symptoms of panic are identical."

That's from Threads, a BBC docu-drama that depicts in drastic images the effects of a nuclear war on the United Kingdom with the example of the northern English city of Sheffield.

I love this movie:

"You know as well as I do that the light in Barcelona is quite different from the light in Tokyo. And, the light in Tokyo is different from that in Prague. A truly great structure, one that is meant to stand the tests of time never disregards its environment. A serious architect takes that into account. He knows that if he wants presence, he must consult with nature. He must be captivated by the light. Always the light. Always."

fluffypet61 -> RE: What movie is this quote from? (8/2/2009 7:29:01 PM)

The Lake House

Musicmystery -> RE: What movie is this quote from? (8/3/2009 8:34:20 PM)

Yes. It's a great scene, isn't it?

fluffypet61 -> RE: What movie is this quote from? (8/3/2009 8:39:59 PM)

"Well, you know, Youngman, sometimes it's not enough merely to teach. One has to punish as well."
