My own personal observation in response to the question being posed. To those that would find fault with my post, why should I care what you think, you have given me reason not to care about your negative opinions and elitist judgments.
If everyone thought that way, then nobody would have a problem in posting a question, and for the responds they could expect from others. The majority isn't that selfasured, there are loads of insecure people out there, and many subs , because as a Dominant you've to have a certain amount of selfasteem or else that wouldn't work out. So I believe this is rather a submissive matter then a for Dominants.

If a sub/slave is looking for answers or insight, some instances they are put down, dismissed or feeling a hell of a lot worst after the OP.

This is what I mean. because you ask something, or state your opinion, you make yourself vunerable, and it's hard to communicate through text only because you don't see the other persons facial expression, and therefor text can b hard at times, or read wrongly, while the other person doesn't mean it like that. Or because it's too easy to make fun of people online, because they are anonymous online.
quote:

There are just too many individuals that just don't care to be helpful.
I believe since coming here there is maybe 15% of the total membership that really do care to help someone new or returning to the lifestyle.
It is worth the risk to have someone of that 15% answer a sub/slaves inquiry.

Well I don't know anything about numbers, I just wanted to see if I was the only one with this feeling here, but it seems I'm not.

I thank you for your reply and wish you enough.

GoddessTeaze,

Daddy and I have had this profile for quite awhile.  I read regularly, but I don't respond unless I have something new to add to the discussion.  If another poster has adequately stated my own thoughts, I don't feel the need to retype virtually the same thing.
Cheers,

Hello Singelrarety,

I've seen you on the forum, and have read your comments and questions, so this thread isn't for you hon.

It's about others who doesn't feel that comfortable enough.

Thank you kindly for your reply.

Yeah, I agree, that's a people-thing rather than an orientation-thing.
Sometimes I don't feel like I know enough to make a worthwhile response, so I usually just read.

Wwe all have our own experiences,
and that's good enough parakeet.
Maybe you've experienced something which
the other person totally can relate too!

I would like to read you in the future :)

I read more then I write, but I'm trying to add/ask more. For me it feels like a form of social anxiety. I used to get that IRL quite badly but managed to beat it back, but for some reason it seems to raise it's head when I'm posting online. So I'm going to tackle it the way I did IRL; keep doing it until I prove to myself that it's no big deal if somebody happens to disagree or think my question is stupid.

Hello Roguescharm,
I'm very happy that you've replied,
you're the kind of people I'm talking about.
It's a fear to overcome, and I know you can do it.

I hope to read you here more often,
[:D]

many. I get often messages from people reading the forum..but not posting.
I ask why they message me the question and not post it on the forum.
More opinions is better then just mine.
Mostly they say...they don't like to be treated as sometimes happens on the forum. They are afraid they get laughed at.
And lets be honest...that does happen.

En 'n hele goedenmorgen JustDarkness,

This is what I mean, apparently they feel comfortable enough
to contact you in person, which is a real compliment, towards You, of course. Still it's a shame those people doesn't feel comfortable
enough to mix in here in the jungle which is
called Bdsm.

I wish You a Happy Sunday!

I also have messages from people who use the forums asking things that they clearly express that they don't want to ask on the boards, especially if it's a sensitive issue. The usual reason given is that they don't want to be *ripped to shreds* and I don't blame them in the least.

Not everyone is able to *hold their own* when under , what appears to be, attack or ridicule and it's easy for those that can do so, to say the well worn phrase.....* If you can't stand the heat..* etc.

For some people the debate and cut and thrust of it, is interesting. Others may be looking for a bit of a *shoulder* or a *listening ear* and can find it a harsh environment when they are feeling a little vulnerable.

Personally, I keep anything that I can't handle being mauled, to myself.

Good morning!
I have responded on here but never posted on the "ask" forums. I did post on the Health forums b/c I have been havingproblems and was looking for help but since no one ever answered there...I kinda gave up. I wish more people would respond there ::sighs::.
Good luck!

There are plenty of people who aren't bothered by such feelings.

Well that's a real shame because Wwe so could learn from each other, Wwe shouldn't fight each other, but Wwe should be supportive of each other, Wwe're all in the same boat, so what kick do people get out of that nasty attitude?
Do they get off on such?

I don't get it for one.

I wished people would grow wiser then that.

Thank you for sharing your experiances agirl.

Well that's a shame, this sometimes happens too,
when I respond to someone in a thread, and they
never bother to respond to that any more..

I will take a peek there hon,
to see if I can answer any :)

But never give up hope!

Not just subs. Some people aren't interested in forums. They see sites like this solely for finding a partner, not for hanging out and becoming online friends.

jen182 -> RE: I do wonder how many subs are reading the forum , but don't feel comfertable enough to respond ? (1/11/2009 9:25:42 PM)

being that i am more on the shy side, sometimes i will read but not reply or when i have questions ill just browse and see if there is a topic that is close to what i want to know.....it kinda sucks being shy (pardon language)

AlexandraLynch -> RE: I do wonder how many subs are reading the forum , but don't feel comfertable enough to respond ? (1/11/2009 9:32:18 PM)

I lurk over here a lot, but mainly to see the other side of the chain, so to speak, being a female dominant. (grin) If I know things that are likely to be worries and concerns of any of my subs, I can either not do that, or lay the groundwork to deal with the worry ahead of time.

beth314 -> RE: I do wonder how many subs are reading the forum , but don't feel comfertable enough to respond ? (1/12/2009 12:38:09 AM)

I feel comfortable enough to post in here, Maam and I believe that alot of other subs would find it an inviting outlet as well:)
ps-just spent the last hour plus reading your profile...such beautiful words

MRandme -> RE: I do wonder how many subs are reading the forum , but don't feel comfertable enough to respond ? (1/12/2009 2:57:14 AM)

i read the forums and learn alot from them... but i tend to not post unless i have something relevant to add. i don't like doing 'me, too' posts, ya know what i mean?

i'm not terribly worried about what the folks who read or respond think. Sometimes a negative or critical reply brings the answer you need or gives you something to ponder that changes the way you think.

bamagirl4u -> RE: I do wonder how many subs are reading the forum , but don't feel comfertable enough to respond ? (1/12/2009 3:52:18 AM)

I have posted a few and answered quite a few and feel comfortable doing so.  No matter what the response, positive or negative there is something to be gained from all the answers and opinions.  I find it to be a place to learn a lot.  The answers are diverse just like we are.  I may not always like the answer, but I do enjoy reading them.  And besides that, I am not overly sensitive most of the time ~~I realize opinions are just that~~ opinions.  I think it is a great forum...[:)]
