Like others I read much more than I write. Also being fairly experienced in many forms of play I tend not to have a whole lot of questions to ask in a forum. So I guess I am more content to share my knowledge than ask a question. But on rare occasions I will start a thread or two.

Hello lurking mummyman,
is that your biggest kink? If I can put it that way?
to b mummified?

I didn't think you we're shy, or uncomfortable at all so

I wish you enough.

I do post though it took me awhile. Personally, I have always been treated with respect. I have not taken offense to anyone voicing their opinion even if it is not mine. I do like the almighty search button, but hey I love research. There is a lot of put downs in these posts, but I just see it as people having a frustrating day and don't take it personal. I am a thinker and many times my thinking finds itself writing a post or replying. Interesting aspect of all this, sometimes in my posting, I tend to have an aha moment.

Goddess T, I too wish you enough.

I hope this is the kind of very safe place where a submissive, a dominant or any questioning person could read and ask questions. The people who I have found here are very kind and giving of themselves when it comes to sharing experiences, advice and their thoughts. If you are nervous about posting a photo you have the anonymity of the Internet and just use an icon of some sort.
Think of how difficult it was before computers to have this kind of community. There is nobody here who can't learn and no question you ask that is wrong.

No, this place isn't a very safe place. There's jerks and assholes and preditors and bull shit and drama, just like on any public non closely moderated board.

But there is also friendship and commadary possible to be found here as well. So I think it kind of balances out.

The world would be a better place.
The internet is a free jungle of people,

Hello GoddessTeaze,
Yes, mummification is my biggest kink. I do have many others though :). I am certainly not shy. I do speak my own mind and never afraid to do so. I guess you could call me a lurker. I do tend to stay in the shadows. I am not the social butterfly type. I am more an intravert. But I do like sharing my knowledge with others whether it be BDSM related or in vanilla life.

i think i read one or two threads and then just felt compelled to put my 2 cents in.  After doing that a time , or two with a positive experience, i felt comfortable enough to start my own thread when i thought i had a good enough question to do so.

I have seen some posts on here where people are saying that others may not feel comfortable in posting because they see someone getting 'beaten up'.  But honestly, those getting 'beaten up' have been asking for it from the get go.

I have found if you are honest and sincere in your question and replies the response will be a positive one.

I read more then I write, but I'm trying to add/ask more. For me it feels like a form of social anxiety. I used to get that IRL quite badly but managed to beat it back, but for some reason it seems to raise it's head when I'm posting online. So I'm going to tackle it the way I did IRL; keep doing it until I prove to myself that it's no big deal if somebody happens to disagree or think my question is stupid.

Hello Roguescharm,
I'm very happy that you've replied,
you're the kind of people I'm talking about.
It's a fear to overcome, and I know you can do it.

I hope to read you here more often,

Warm Greetingz

Once in a while i get something that just opens my eyes and changes the way i think about something.  In replying to people who post the thought just honestly had never occurred to me what a big deal it may have been for them to create the post in the first place.

This is definitely something i will keep in mind in future posts and thank you for putting light on this perspective.

If you call that debating???
In My opinion that crossed the line
of debating, and went into an argument,
which I call a fight.

But al right, We call things differently.
Which is fine, as long as We understand each other.

Have a good one

Apparently, we don't understand one another, so let me try again.  :>  I said there is a difference between fighting and debating.  That instance you noted above was fighting, particularly ugly fighting at that.  Sometime folks debate on the forums in good, clean  respect and regard and I enjoy debate as a matter of sport.  Biiiiiiiig difference.

Hello sparky,
That's good to hear that you feel at home here .
I disagree with you about people who ask to b "beaten
up" from the beginning.
That's the same as woman
in short skirts ask to b raped. That's also not true.
Not every one has the skills to communicate properly,
so they can put it blunt maybe, but that still isn't
a reason to "beat people up".
That's lowering yourself to a level which you don't
want to be treated yourself, so why treat others that way?

you're lucky to have had good responds.
This thread shows not everyone has.

Thank you for your responds.
I wish you enough.

I am one  of those creepy people who read, but do not post. Not sure why, or if it matters. Usually by the time I've read a very lengthy thread, and lengthy responses - everything that's needed to be said has been said.

The last thread i read before i posted the above post was the one where Carmeldelight was talking about putting her Dom in his place and making him cry.  The post before that was in the General section where a Dom had made a statement that slaves shouldn't have a say in who owns them.

The initial posts did not come across as an honest or sincere question of one wanting to learn from others.   Granted, i haven't been reading on the boards for an extended period of time, maybe only a couple of months.   But when an honest, heart felt question has been asked there hasn't been the mean responses witnessed in the above threads.

Mean isn't really the right word but i've only had one cup of coffee.  obnoxious maybe?  mildly rude?  i don't know..  for the most part they were pretty honest answers with definitely NO sugar coating.

I guess in a nutshell i'm saying.. i feel if you ask a polite sincere, honest question, you will receive like answers.. and by contrast if you ask an inflammatory arrogant obnoxious question or post.. you will likely receive such answers.. is that a fair statement?

Sincerely

I think this is a fantastic attitude to have when replying to posts.  I wish everyone felt this way, including myself.  I try think "is this going to be helpful or hurtful?"
But sometimes, you just see that rude post that is not helpful and you want to .  It is in those times i feel it is most important to ask "is this going to be helpful or hurtful?"   even when it's the furthest thought from your mind.   And with this being said, i admit, i've not taken my own advice and been mean before.  Something i need to work on.

Thank you again for your wonderful thoughts and posts.  I love a good productive thread like this.

oh, and thesugarplum... you sure don't seem creepy to me. would love to hear more of what others think.   I understand "well someone else already said what i thought"  but not everyone learns the same way and maybe the way you would post it would make it clearer for someone else.  Course only if you are comfortable with it.

sincerely

yanno, I was wondering if the CM owners wanted more traffic in the public forums...??? or do they prefer more traffic in the public profiles where the adverts are??

if they wanted more traffic in forums and had the web capacity if 80% posting traffic...

would an email from the site (which can be disabled by user choice if necessary) be a good idea?

Perhaps on topics according to their listed 'likes/loves/lives for' lists if the topic comes up in a forum?

ie: loves: anal, scuba masks and watersports

if a topic has variable of the CM preferences set by the user to be notified on the subject TOPIC only, would that entice more to come over, more to post?

I know many who never even noticed or cared to notice the forum option in here or read it and left because it was overwhelmed with babble that had no actual content to the title of the origional thread (aka hijacking, personal comments (good or bad), etc.

I wonder if the title of the post must be accurate to the issue itself via one keyword that can make an easier way to highlight a topic for mass email.  Since all starter topics are checked by mods eventually anyways, why can they not categorize by one button to send a mass message to all (who have not disabled such device) users?

Good way to get fresh meat/prospective in here.
