This made me think of what the OP might be like in the courtroom with the judge and having to say 'M'Lord' and ....

.. on second thoughts better not go there.

i'm not trying to seek attention of any sort but i just thought i should post it as i have always kept myself professional at work, but this was just a slip up that got me.  i am thinking it may now have only been my screen name, but what if later it turns out to be something else; for instance when i am at work and collegues talk about Mistress's, i can tell they are unaware of the lifestyle and the jargon used; at the same time i have to appear to look surprised at all this as i do not wish to reveal who i really am.

i may have made a mistake of calling myself a 'true slave', but i guess my slave qualities are become almost evident at work; for instance i sometimes concentrated a bit too much at Women's shoes/boots, more than other men would, etc.

if you don't want to out yourself at work, then I suggest you learn to control yourself.

born4serving, I disagree with most of the posters.  I think that you see your true self as the person identified by your chosen name and that you feel that your working self is somehow a sham.  I'm very glad that you caught the slip before the document was sent.

I used to see myself as three people in one.  There was Christine, the consummate professional traveling around the world and teaching seminars, chairing international committees, an expert at negotiations, and someone who left everyone feeling like a winner.  There was Chris, the loyal and true friend, the one who always made everyone around her calm, the one who looked for lonely people and made sure that they were included.  Then there was Chrissy, the lusty wench who left men not believing what a good time they just had.  The problem with that is that sometimes the wrong persona came out.  I had to work hard to accept myself as all of these things in one package, to reintegrate them in a sense (though they were not truly split personalities), and to see that there was nothing wrong with using all of my skills.

It sounds to me like in your mind there is the barrister and the slave, and the slave is winning.  Accept yourself for who you are.  You are a barrister who has a slave's personality.  You can excel at both.  While you may enjoy your slavish side more you have to work to pay the bills.  Just keep proofreading.  : )

Well, its not really advice i am looking for but just wondering if others had experiences as such.

For me this is quite serious because i have to maintain a professional conduct with clients, and if a client were to show my supervisor the letter with my screen name, it would raise questions about me...

Born;

Perhaps I am  different than the rest who have responded to you, but I see a couple of things differently AND a solution.

1. I tend to start making mistakes like that when needs go unanswered to long. If the need is physical I have accidents (take hot things from oven without adequate protections, break toes, bruises etc). If it is mental I tend to get myself into situations where confrontations are inevitable ( I am a SAM and have to be challenged). Perhaps you are succumbing to this same type of syndrome. If you think you might be..Volunteer at a hospital, a Battered Women's shelter or somewhere where you can "serve" others, until you can find what you are looking for. In the latter where you are dealing with women who need to re-own themselves, your gentle non-threatening nature can be a boon as they prepare for custody battles, divorces etc. with your help.

2. Most Word Processors allow you to spell check and set things to automatically correct common misspellings. Put your nick in there and set it to auto-correct to your legal name. I would also set  the grammar checker to a stricter setting so it catches and highlights the improper capitalization's of You.

3. As for the shoe problem..that is something you will have to train yourself out of. Though most men won't think twice about you looking..at a well turned ankle and foot. Many are Leg men after all.

That doesn't sound like slave qualities coming out at work, it sounds like fetishes coming out. Having a session with a dominant where you can express the fetish(es) may well help you get recentered and focused back on your job again.

Im sure that many of us wouldnt want to sign a computer screen name to  professional document because its unprofessional. If you sign your computer name so frequently why not change your name to something less urm dramatic? That way if you do slip up you can just say its your screen name. Mind you really in the professional capacity you simply have to be careful for the above reason.

For me, it doesn't show just how 'slave' you are but that you are spending too much time in online BDSM environments.

the.dark.

I second this. Step awayyyyyyyyyyyyyy from the computer!

Now hang on for just a moment!  You're trying to tell me that I'm actually supposed to do this stuff for real

I mean taking your clothes off and having some sadistic bastard beat you until you're bruised, and then shag the arse off you?

Now that's just sick....

Dude, just do what Batman does, as Bruce Wayne. Don't act diametrically opposed to all of it, just sort of, like, act indifferent, or chuckle at some news story of bondage gone wrong, or something. I mean, is your 'real self'(rolls eyes) like a cynical person, or y'know, describe your personality, man. How does the world think of you?

I have certain clues that present themselves when I becoming to much the internet. That is when I speak out loud LOL, or similair  word usage, or when I am dreaming of being in a chatroom or reading different message boards. Also if i forget my name, then I know I am in big trouble. Life isn't in the now anymore and online has become an obsession. I shut the computer off when that happens, and thank the Goddess it does not happen very often.

I solved this problem by having my name legally changed to "Red Magic One" after I made 1,000 posts.  It surprised my friends and colleagues at first, but now they recognize it as a sign of my true dominant nature.

So in keeping that theme, will your first male offspring be named Red Magic Two?
