Status: offline 		Ever have a Dominant lie about his height, his penis size, and many other things? Sounds like insecurity to me

After you have gotten to know each other, still lying about unimportant things?

No, I have not. But then, I don't ask them their height, penis size, or other uninportant incidentals such as that.

Status: offline 		Uh, because they can often get what they want by lying? Sadly, it happens to be dominant trait, politicians for instance - fortunately, submissives are often more discerning than voters.

Yes i have had Dom's lie to me but there again i think everyone has been lied to at some point. It's just a matter of if you find the lie out or not.

Sound like you want to live in a perfect world without having to learn important things for yourself, like why people lie. Best of luck on this utopia. By the way are you lying?

Now I remember why I dont post much.

Edit to add   in case it needed to be explained farther ... lying isn't exclusive to Doms.

I agree with Philly here ow.  I didnt see anywhere in Phillys short, yet succinct post, that accused everyone of lying, it's simply a point that it's not a dominant trait but a people one(If I'm wrong, please do let me know Philly).  Many come into BDSM and assume that things might be different because of some unwritten code, or because BDSM peeps are better or more in tune or less judgemental.  I don't get the OPs question at all.  For me, it's an immature question and has no backbone to it.  How do we even know that because those things are unimportant to the OP, that they aren't important to the person shes talking about - and lets face it - questions like this usually come up from a personal experience.
 
And Philly, don't allow the reactions of others dictate what you can or cannot post and when you can or cannot.  I know my posts come across as abrupt at times - it's not always meant that way but the written word can be so unforgiving and misunderstanding happen.  You have just as much right to post as anyone, regardless of what others might think.

Lots of different reasons. 
The instances you mentioned, I think stem from insecurity and the desire to be given a chance to win you over with their personality so those perceived detractants matter less. 
I endeavor not to lie in important relationships as I believe that whether large or small, lies chip away at a foundational piece of a relationship.  Particularly with partners and those very close with me, honesty is really the only option.
