http://www.huffingtonpost.com/     all day/

the office of the presidency IS a good thing.    the whistle stop tour was a slap against the globalists.  (who don't want any country to have relevant transport..

even if you did not vote for him...(I did not)  it is still nice to see so many happy.  maybe something good can be inspired.  crushing anyone's dreams... ..well- it leads to despair.  We don't yet know if his being will be a catalyst for something good.

from this crowd- they are real people.  THAT is nice to see.    yes we can.

Hell Yes We Can!

Aileen1968 -> RE: Watch the inaugaration LIVE! (1/20/2009 7:40:04 AM)

I didn't vote for him, but I'm most certainly watching it and have been tivoing it since seven this morning so that my eight year old can see parts when she gets home from school.  This is history and as an American I'm extremely proud of what's occuring today.

What did the man say? "Change is coming to America" and he was right. Words aren't adequate to describe how I feel watching this historic moment, I wouldn't have missed this for the world.

I am sitting here with tears in my eyes of PRIDE for this country and the strides it made today.

Now if we can only make our 46th President a Lesbian Female Independent we truly will be the country we set out to be.

Me too Gwyn,
I stayed away from the country while we had W in office.  I swore I wouldn't come back until I could be proud of my president.

That's why I'm back now.

*and by the way, I love Yo Yo Ma.... wasn't that performance fabulous?

The ums (4 and 6) and i have just finished watching the live transmission.  They were very impressed with the sheer importance and pure history that was being made!  i was very moved, and am now filled with hope and i'm not even American!  Your new president came across as a very dignified, very humble, but very strong man and i am going to watch with interest to see how he delivers all the wonderful things he has promised...

He only promised to act mindfully and ethically.

It`s up to everyone to help.

~~~~~~~~~~
The Obama`s walked with the ex`s to the USMC helicopter.That was a nice touch.
He was very calm and steady while the chief justice flubbed the oath.
Loved Aretha Franklin`s singing and the classical piece was very soothing and easy to listen to.
Even though the principals will attend lunches and gatherings,all the staff and staffs of staff are heading over to the west wing.
It is up to all of us, now what will we do?
On a very small scale, ive already donated to the food banks,
have seeds and am ready to plant, even tho the ground isnt yet.
Charter school next year when he starts middle school.
Speading all the hope and openess i can,
we're going to go adopt a dog [:D]- cuz we can.
YES WE CAN- it dosent matter how small or seeminly insignificant you might think it is,
think of a tiny seed and what grows from it....
Dance to my song today!!!! Dance I tell you!!!
I am happy people are enthused.  It is VERY cold here in Pennsylvania.  (4 hours north of DC)
He certainly inspires. The positive "can do" attitude doesn't have to end at the boarded.   the institution of the presidency is alive and well.
The human mind is a HUGE resource.  Unleashing that- just maybe, help with todays problems.
...if only for today- it is nice to escape the problems of the world.
One person cant do it all.  Every little bit helps.  :-)
I had tears streaming down my cheeks the whole time. I seldom am impressed but the hope and love in that crowd was so contagious, that it is hard to not feel it as well.
parakeet89 -> RE: Watch the inaugaration LIVE! (1/20/2009 10:31:56 AM)
I cried when I watched the inauguration and I'm not even American. I cannot explain how proud I feel for the States. Watching that reminded me of why I miss living there so much. Congrats you guys :)
A noble speech from a noble man!....
Irishknight -> RE: Watch the inaugaration LIVE! (1/20/2009 10:43:39 AM)
I was won over late by Obama (and McCain's falling apart).  I was as impressed with this speech as I was with his victory speech.
Owner, I think you understate what he said.  While promising exactly what you said, he also delivered the message to Congress that it was time to stop playing childish partisan games.  He spoke of offering friendship to the world.
I think the words he said that will stick in the minds of many in other countries were to their leaders.  "You will be remembered for what you build, not what you destroy."  Those are words for leaders both present and future to live by.  If they do, the world will become a far better place.
I thought those words most significant as well,   M
