I myself don't have a landline and exclusively use a cell phone. So it's nice to know they can find me if I need help but can't talk for some reason.

Thanks slaveboyforyou. Thats exactly why there are so many cameras in the UK. Im not a fan of them, but shopkeepers and home owners feel safer with them. There is no doubt they have cut crime and prevented terrorist attacks in London and elsewhere. Many people feel safer if they know they are in an area protected by cctv.

Jennifer Hudson had 3 family members attacked and murdered in their home.Thats in Chicago where their is a handgun ban. Thats a famous person. Its been plastered all over the new since october when it happened. If it wasnt a random break in does it mater? He broke in. They were unarmed.

And you call that protection? 4 men with guns break in and me without my gun is safer for me? How so? I should not have my gun because they might be quicker on the trigger than me?

That is an attack not an invasion. Do you know where the word England comes from? Angel land, we were seen as being an aryan race equal to the Germans. We stepped in (eventually) when lloyd george couldnt put it off any longer. We were attacked because we declared war not because they wanted to invade.

Just a thought, I know for me growing up in the era of the IRA, the threat of bombs going off was far more an issue than worrying or being paranoid about someone with a gun invading the house, I grew up with rifles and a shot gun in the house(dad was a hunter) and learned from an early age how to shoot. My old man told me that a gun wasnt gonna protect me against a car bomb. In 76 our school was cleared about seven times after bombscares, we literally spent the whole of the summer out on the school field I was in brompton road when the harrods bomb went off and at victoria station when there was a car bomb detonated by the police. traumatised? sure, but it never made me think I needed a gun to protect anything. I dont want one, even living in canada, I dont feel the need, I have kids and would have to have the guns locked up. thats about as much use as a chocolate fireguard.. a baseball bat and a knife, not so much. The other day I called it a mentality, but i used the wrong word, its not mentality, its totally different culture belief. Lucy
