Status: offline 		The unfortunate part of our government is that we've become so horribly mired down in laws upon laws and addendums of laws.......for every possible little nuance. It's gotten rediculous. Personally, when issues like this come up, it just proves how out of hand it has gotten when the people managing the government cannot even keep all the crap straight.

Makes a person want to toss the whole mess into the rubbish bin and start fresh. Unfortunately the myriad of special interest groups in the country would only make it their life's calling, to fight to make sure the new version is even more bulky and unwieldy than what we've got now......as impossible as that seems.

SOS is not a civil office under the authority of the United States. It's an advisory position under the authority of the CIC which is why the duties of the SOS are determined by the President and not by law.

Status: offline 		I understand the concept behind the law cited.  I wish it applied to the local politics where I live.  OP: come visit Cook county in IL.  If you're this upset about Hillary, the BS of the county board would make you slit your wrists!

Your desire to have the new administration fail puts you in the same company with Rush Limbaugh.  I would hope that any administration we have is succesful - to wish otherwise is a hair short of treason.

My understanding is that your original Constitution was quite short. The proposed European constitution ran to volumes. For that reason alone I glad it failed.

She will not be given the pay increase and congress wrote an exception if she filled the position.  This was all done way back in 2008

Well that's not right. I was curious so I looked it up. The pay was around 200k and the increase was .025%.
