~fast reply~ the day TheEngineer and i got married, it was Too Damned Cold to do my normal routine...IE, shower, comb my hair, and go. 22 degrees? nothankyouverymuch. as i was struggling with the blowdryer, i got the giggles...it had been probably 7 years or more since i blew my hair dry, other than one haircut. my hair is fine and flyaway and VERY straight. so no use bothering, it wont even hold a perm. braid waves fall out within 10 minutes when my hair is longer, even if i braided it wet. i also have a lot of "grew them myself!" highlights in my hair. or as the imp said, "mom! you're going.....blonde..!" uh huh. i was blessed with good skin. i wash my face, and when i remember put on moisturizer. makeup is for special occasions, and even then its mascara, eyeliner, and lipstick. my mama still fusses at me because i wont "protect" my face by putting on makeup. some people look fine without a little enhancement. i wouldnt say i was gorgeous by a long shot, but i look fine without the makeup. i wonder how much of it is "i need the makeup" and how much of it is cultural expectation? kitten, who has a wedding day pic up on the profile now....oh and one of the new family member, the jasmine-kitty
