One would think that a country as open minded as Holland would be a beacon for freedom of speech, but apparently it doesn't apply if you make a movie against Islam.  Muslims have found the short film Fitna by Geert Wilders offensive, and have taken the issue to the courts, who at first decided to drop the charges, but after pressure from Muslim groups have reinstated them.

If you think this won't happen in the US, think again.  A publisher refused to print a book it paid $100k for called "The Jewel of Medina", because it might be offensive. 
And anyone remember the Danish cartoons?

People die every year from heat or cold.  Now suddenly it is a crime and should be prosecuted, according to some people on the other thread.

Only liberals can turn a death like that into a crime.  I'm sure the "family" the man had and didn't check in on him or care enough to make sure he was okay will think the same thing, and sue for damages and loss of life.

Your championship free speech would be admirable, if it was honest. Would you have started the same thread if the film had been anti-Jewish and not anti-Muslim ? Somehow I doubt it.

I honestly don't understand what you're getting at here.  Can you explain to me?

Are you saying I would enjoy an anti-Jewish movie?

Actually, the last movie I saw was Defiance.  I enjoyed it.  It was a little long, but I really liked the movie and the story.

I also recently watched Schindler's list for the first time.  I watched every minute of it.

I also really liked Valkyrie.  The one where Hitler was nearly assassinated.

Funny, no-one seems to have a "problem" making movies about Irish people that shows them as drunks, being prone to fight or gangsters.
