Controlling someone's diet and exercise is something most parents do, as well as most wives/person that does the cooking, so it's not so odd at all. When dealing with adults though, there is often some underlying conditions for lack of exercise or bad diet. There can be eating disorders, years of bad habits, a lifestyle that is not conducive to exercise, injuries, body image issues, the list goes on and on. While the idea is fun and hot and sort of works on the same idea as a support group for dieting or healthy living, I am going to have to say check with your doctor before you start any workout program or diet. When it has been an issue for a sub with us, we first get medical-nutritionalist advice and then help set goals and give motivation. We have seen eating disorders (plan included group therapy to help work past the "real" issue), body image issues (plan included removal of TV and fashion mags and substituting with other movies and mags with real people in them), and medical obesity (plan included cooking classes in my kitchen, education on portions and healthy eating, and doctor visits to make sure the weight loss wasn't too fast and the exercise wasn't too much). I guess my point, if there is one, is that this is potentially a REALLY heavy burden to put on the D side of the whip if you try to do something fast and really requires a lot of work from all involved to make it safe and sane. If you go slow, like months to improve the core behaviors, then it just takes a ton of time and support from the D side and a totally different system of disipline, reward, and punishment needs to be in place for this aspect of the d/s. IMHO
