Hmmmm. I didn't catch the jab, but if the Steelers won three Super Bowls in four years, I'd call them a dynasty too.

It's just a little jab at the Pat's fans.
People are always talking about how the Patriots are a dynasty.
They tend to forget about the Steelers of the 70's.

A Pats fan will give you the stats on the Steeler's Dynasty days:

The Steelers did not win three out of four SBs. BUT they are the only team to win four SBs, and the only team to win back to back SBs twice. < in the 70's > Won in 74 & 75 and then again in 78 & 79.

***hums Glory Days with Katy ***

Hey Katy ???

Did you hear who is going to do the coin toss on Sunday ?...

yup, you guessed it. Tom Brady. < seriously, it's true >

Kinda ironic isn't it.... it's like inviting the school bully to your birthday party.

That news has made me chuckle for days.. can't wait to see the fan reaction.

mbmbn
PS.. not jabbing the Steelers fans. I am looking forward to a great game.

Feel my pain.
I heard on the radio today that he played half the season with a hernia.

yes, he has a sports hernia < torn lower adbominal muscle(s). they say he will be having surgery soon, and bowed out of the Pro Bowl.
McNabb from the Eagkles went out mid season, same injury.

And yes, I can imagine it's a little disheartening having the guy who kept you out of the SB 2 or 3 times, and doing it in your own house, on the field to kick off your first SB appearance in 28 ish years. But hey.... it's just a coin toss.. you guys actually get to play and have a shot at the Lombardi. You guys got a better deal.

The Pats will be back, have no fear.
We had to have that Denver win because we didn't want to face the Pats at their house.

No they're not. The 49ers and Cowboys have both won FIVE.

Okay. Who is ready for the game? I am. I have the food. I have the plan. I have the clothes. If my team shows up and plays to their talents, it will all be good.

Yeah. They just couldn't stand to have there golden boy not be involved. I don't think Brady should be tossing that coin. There better not be any sad mishaps with the flip.;) BTW he only kept us out of one Drew Bledsoe did the heavy lifting if you could call it that in 2001 you guys got 14 points on special teams & won 21-17. That being said he is a great QB & I think the Patriots & Steelers will see each other in a couple more AFC championship games in the up coming years.

I am ready too Katy. Just got off the phone with my sister and we have all the food and beverages ready to go. We will be decorating her house tomorrow. A little bit Steeler colors and a little bit Seahawk colors. We have representation for both teams. SB is a holiday in my family and circle of friends so we make it a day long event. ESPN has past SB highlights on most of tonight and I have been cooking and watching some of the great games over the years. Speaking of which, the Pats/Carolina game is on... gotta run.

You know I am pulling for the Seahawks, but if your Steelers win, it will be a pretty cool thing for Bettis. Who could ask for a better way to go out, and he does deserve it. I'll be happy either way.

Good Luck tomorrow. Savor every moment !!

Cool! I'm looking forward to a great game. I like when people make an all day event out of it. And Talmar, you are correct, it's far from over between the Pats and Steelers, they will meet again in the playoffs.

Hard to say--I like both teams. Probably I'd be happier if the Steelers won, but I don't have anything against the Seahawks. Also not sure of who's going to win. Again, slight edge to the Steelers, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Alright, just kick off already!! I hate this two week wait between games. Granted I've had to wait 10 years for the Steelers to be in the SB, but enough already.
I like this thread title much better than the original one, as I detest "Nation" being put after my beloved Steelers name. That started with the lowest class bunch of pseudo-fans in the league, the <fill in whatever city they're going to play in this year> Raiders.
As a Steeler fan, there are a few things I understand:

On the 8th day, God created football. And God looked down, and saw that football was good. And He wanted to play football, so He took form and came to Earth and played football. We call the form He took "Terry Bradshaw"

Steeler fans are born, rarely converted, and certainly do not welcome carpetbagger "bandwagon" fans of other teams, so next season you all just go back to cheering for Arizona or San Francisco or whoever.

The Immaculate Reception was drawn up that way.

Each Steeler win is proof that good will triumph over evil. Any Steeler loss is just a test of faith, so we can tell the true believers from the bandwagon infidels.

Welcome to the Club!

I think the op took the word "nation" because it is a popular notion in western Pennsylvania. The consideration that there are many Steeler fans in the nation; and Steeler sports bars in various states, and Steeler fans in attendance regardless of the city. it warms our hearts on every Steeler game day, to know there are many cheering.

I was watching ESPN this morning and saw Dan Rooney and Bill Cowher, sharing some "Man Love!"

I hope the Steeler's win too, today. Those two deserve it!

Peace, Kevin
