Help me. I have the fever. Many businesses around here are having Steeler Friday - employees get to wear their black & gold colors. I wish I were adorned in a #7 jersey.

Katy, take a deep breath and meditate on this:

"I cried because I had no shoes. Then I met a man who had no feet."

Think about good energy. Good karma. The Steelers dont need you to be coveting right now. Think about Ben. Ben would want you to be full of love and not covet.
Think about Ben.

People, this thread is for Steeler love.

How about some good old fashioned HATE for the Broncos?

Now, I'll admit that when I was young I kinda liked them back in the day of Floyd Little, but eventually I wised up. First, for a long time their Coach was Dan Reeves, and we all know he got his start as a Dallas Cowboy and well, that is about the only thing worse than being a Colt. Then they got glamour boy John Elway -- first pick in a draft buy he was such a pussy he didn't want to play where he was drafted (though I think that was the Colts so that isn't a bad reason). Still, he threatened to go play baseball (a useless activity that isn't even worth calling a sport) if he didn't get his way to play somewhere else, so how can you not HATE him.

Of course, the combination of two bums like Reeves and Elway was forever doomed and only useful as entertainment as they lost Super Bowls. But once the Broncos got smart and fired Reeves they were able to win a couple.

Now I'm almost tempted to like Shanahan because he is Irish; however it is easier to HATE him because he looks like a rat. And it is nice to see he is no longer considered an offensive genius now that Elway is gone. So it will be a pleasure to see them get crushed this weekend when the Steelers come to town. I'll drink a 6 pack of Iron City during the show.

Don't have too much John Elway hate, m'kay? He's Big Ben's idol and Big Ben's number.

I still feel traumatized....waking up as a kid to images on tv of the moving vans that had taken our team away in the middle of the night. I left Baltimore five years ago, but when I did there was still a moving company whose slogan was "We didnt move the Colts!" It was on the side of every truck.
The whole time during last week's game I kept having weird feelings seeing that logo on the helmets of the Colts and I kept saying "But, I cant help but feel like they are my Colts until a co-worker took me by the shoulders and said "THEY ARE NOT YOUR COLTS! THAT IS SATAN'S HOOFPRINT!"
Then I felt much better about taking on the Steelers as my own.
That's my little Hallmark Channel story about How I Came to Love Again.
:-)

I would say in general, Baltimoreans are over the Mayflower moving trauma since the arrival of the Ravens and the 2000 Super Bowl win. But people here had enough sense to not want Cleveland's franchise and legacy when Modell moved the team. So the Browns name, colors, records, all that remained in Cleveland. Meanwhile, Johny Unitas is enshrined in the HOF as an Indianopolis Colt. As a result, INDY is cursed. Since 1984, the Colts have never been able to do much in the postseason the few times they've made it there.

The Steeler's victory over the Colts was one of the most riviting football games I've ever seen. That and USC's victory over ND are the games of the season.

I jumped for joy when Vanderjact missed.

It was crazy downtown today. Even the homeless people were wearing Steeler jerseys.

Priorities.
My dad, who sometimes, maybe watches a little football, asked for specifics today: what time does the game start? who's going to win? (wink)

I've been flirting with the Bronco's for some time now.

I apologize, but I love them.

Go BRONCOS!

Peace, Kevin

I left in 2000...never took on the Ravens as "my team"....so I kept hangin on :-)
