I am happy to provide references of people that know me now and some who have known me since high school. If some one really wants to know about what I am like to live with who better than my husband and/or his slave who live with me. I'm pretty sure mine would read something along the lines of really hates to clean most of the time, picky about how the dishwasher is loaded, run for hills when she's hormonal.
If it's friends from pagan festivals it'd probably be honest business woman, loves sex, very vocal during. . . no really you can hear her down the ridge. (Good thing I don't embarrass easily anymore- I caught hell for a while when my buddies figured out who's "pagan radio" was so loud.)
I am really more about getting to know a person over time, spending time together and trusting my instincts. (If I'm really serious I usually let my Dad know the persons name and he makes a few calls to check them out.) Like pretty much everyone else has said not to likely that some one is going to give you a horrible reference, as for community references well I live in the boonies and don't get out as much as I used to.
