I dunno. I get the same crap from every single age and I've had every single age possible, message me.

I could go on here about how many on here are here because they lack social skills and that's why they're still single and always will be..but that's another story....

windchymes -> RE: Does age have anything to do with it? (2/5/2009 3:19:52 PM)

Iron Bear called it....with age comes senility, dementia, Alzheimer's.  And some older people are just damn obnoxious!

(Not that I believe for a second that Iron Bear is in the least bit senile! [:D]  )

VeryNastyDom -> RE: Does age have anything to do with it? (2/5/2009 3:25:32 PM)

Men of all ages can either be intelligent gentlemen or clueless idiots - it just depends on which ones you interact with.  Interestingly, I find the exact same thing applies to the female of the species; some have incredibly developed fantasies that are 100% impractical in the real world while others are very down to earth.

I correspond with younger women from time to time, but I very much prefer those within 10-15 year of my age, plus or minus.  While all the younger ladies are undoubtedly charming, I will normally take a more mature woman with a wicked mind over a perky young body with an empty head any day.

Whaddayamean "that old"? Huh?

[;)] I didn't know that. I don't do that, but at your mention that younger men lie whereas the geri's don't, I suppose my peer group has learned that lying doesn't get you what you want. I do know that I have far less patience than I used to have, I just don't know if that is a function of age or of seniority (the two aren't synonymous). I thought that men in general don't have an awful lot of finesse where courting is concerned - at least I sometimes get the impression that's a lost art, in the United States (I originally come from Western Europe).

Interesting thread.

Yup. When Wal-Mart started selling $300 PCs the internet went all to hell..

MidMichCowboy -> RE: Does age have anything to do with it? (2/5/2009 5:38:08 PM)

Well, I think we are hearing a lot of inexperience talking.
I read the profiles of some of those who downgrade others just on the basis of their age: took about a second each. They have a list of likes and dislikes and a snarky comment. I'm not sure why they get any emails.
As for age determining how we treat women, I marched for the ERA when my "younger" wife was against it because she thought women shouldn't be in the military or come out of a divorce even (yea, paid through the nose for her). I've marched and fought for equality on basis of sex, sexual preference, race and religion. While we are not perfect, it was a lot of us "old farts" who have fought for the changes that have happened.
I have not been successful at marriage. I am now a reformed workaholic. I lived on an airplane and made lots of money for the ladies to spend. They spent and now I'm alone. But, I've grown and discovered more about myself than many ever have. I'm a great father. This "old fart" has ummms from 8 to 23. I sacrifice for them (something many do not know how to do), do homework with them, go to school events, take care of them when they are sick and I'm there for them when they need me ... any time of the day.
I was taught "by a much younger lady" that age is relevant only to the unintelligent. It's compatibility of intellect, your passions in life and your heart that matters.

To judge solely on basis of age ... I had been hoping we had gotten rid of silly thoughts like that.

Lynnxz -> RE: Does age have anything to do with it? (2/5/2009 5:39:20 PM)

No one is judging based on age, most are judging on the basis of rampant asshattery.

Looking at the topic, that is what is being talked about.

Yes so had we...sadly the statistics are against it.

Since two people have commented on my possilby liking liars, I'll go ahead and clarify. It was an example, and nothing more.

It was something more. You held up younger men who lie as superior to older men who are blunt. I'd rather have someone be blunt and find out immediately we aren't compatible than be lied to. YMMV

Lynnxz -> RE: Does age have anything to do with it? (2/5/2009 5:55:13 PM)

The topic is not "All older people are idiots" but rather, "Why is it that many of these tactless, pushy types happen to be older?".

No judgement, just observation, at least from my point of view. It's not inexperience talking at all... kind of the opposite.

I don't think there's one woman on this forum who thinks of you as an "old fart"....

More like...."hot"[;)]

Hey thank you for making my life better, giving me more chances and opportunities, making the law recognize me as an adult rather than a big child. Thank you for the heat and hatred that you faced so i could take higher math classes and NOT have to take home economics. Thank you for doing what you did, so that i could help carry on the "fight" and hopefully make the world a little better for my nieces and nephews.

And yeah, I'm with the other women here on this one, your brain is pure sexy!

MidMichCowboy -> RE: Does age have anything to do with it? (2/5/2009 6:42:22 PM)

windchymes, thank you very much. I'm almost speechless.
edited to add:
feydeplume, you are a lovely intelligent lady. If I ever did anything, however small that benifited you, I'm happy.
I"m actually blushing tonight. Geesh

I did not mean to insult anyone. I've made a lot of mistakes in my life. But, other than a few periods when I got lost in myself, I have fought to have each person accepted as an individual. That doesn't mean I have to like every person. I'm not a saint. But I should judge them on their personality, who they are inside, not on what sex, race, religion, age or sexual preference they are.
Age ... I still feel like I'm a kid, facing all the wonders in this world.
Yet, when I face responsibilities of being a father, at times I feel older than dirt.
I just don't like games played by anyone. I've been as guilty as anyone. I've used people. I'm sorry, so sorry for that.
But, as humans, we should learn and grow every day.
You are not old, until you stop growing.

DavanKael -> RE: Does age have anything to do with it? (2/5/2009 6:46:38 PM)

I suspect that people of a certain station in life figure if they wiggle some dough at a person, the person will fall merrily in line.
I also think that there are asshats of all ages.

You are a gentleman, MidMichCowboy and atypically so regardless of age.  :>  Those of us who have had the pleasure of talking with you, reading your posts on here, and perving your profile couldn't possibly lump you in with those poor examples of masculinity, indeed humanity, that have been spoken of.

MyWorldCT -> RE: Does age have anything to do with it? (2/5/2009 6:56:59 PM)

I am not sure what category I fit into, but if you lie, cheat, and steal your way into another's heart, or even pants, then your successes will not be as sweet or rewarding as those earned through honesty, bravery (being normal in a F'd-up society), and self-respect.

I agree that full-on asshattery will get you nowhere and that there are noobs of all ages in real life and on the interwebs.

No, sorry, he's right. One post specifically said that any middle-aged man who's not already paired off has something wrong with him. I don't know if that's the one that hit his button, but I almost rose to the bait on that one myself before I decided it wasn't worth the effort (old age teaches you what to hit head-on and what to let slide past you). Anyway, I agree with everything he says. Good post from a good man.

I looked at his profile and it says that he is 56 years old and it got me to wondering. I've been approached by many men in their late 40's all the way to 67. I think the one that takes the cake is the almost 70 year old who wanted me as a brood mare to pop out babies for him. *shudder* The main thing in common all these men had was their advanced age and their subsequent cluelessness. And I wonder - Does being that old make them think they can cut corners? This guy who likes anal worship doesn't seem to have a clue that he needs to form a relationship with a woman before she'll drop her pants and let him gaze at her brown eye. The almost 70 year old man who wanted to breed me told me that he doesn't need to go through 'red tape' to get a girl and that I need to stop playing games. I've been told this very thing more than once, in some form or another, from men of advanced age. It's the main reason why I do not go to the chatrooms anymore.

Sweet Jesus!  As if I don't have enough to feel inadequate about now it's my "advanced age"?  And I'm in the group of men from 40-70?  I've got 30 years of "advanced age ahead before I start to get really old.  Might as well start self breath play and put myself out of my misery before I accidentally come on to some "nubile" 39 year old.  lol
