I agree with Lady Merrisa. I think it's more a comment on the levels of communication that an M/s, or D/s couple can achieve during play. Tangents happen, and they are just as beautiful in their own way as what happens during play. They serve as another way to bind a Master and slave together, aside from the fact that it's just fun. The point isn't whether the conversation is about mathematics, Euclidean geometry, philosophy, or whether it's about cooking a meal, something funny that happened with the children, or some weird image that comes to mind. The point is rather that, in this case, a Master found something beautiful to appreciate and respect in His slave outside of her submission. Something that in that moment in time transcended play. what burns me is the number of people who assume that because we're a few shades left of center that we are automatically incapable of holding down an intelligent conversation or that we have little else to offer up than our tits, cunt and arse. that our submissive/slave demeanor means that we have no personality or opinions and that all we're good for is a bit of kink and a slapped arse. i keep stepping over these people and it still annoys me. sorry, a bit of a hijack, ignore me [&:]

Submissive does not mean "without a shred of self respect" in my book.

Submissive people are not stupid or devoid of personality. They just have a different needs than those, who like to dominate. That's all. Nobody has a right to estimate the intellect of other person, basing only on her/his preferences to be submissive. It's absurd.
