Does anyone else get bored with Collarme forum posts after about a year?

In the beginning, about a year ago, Collarme was great as I could get my critically important questions answered, with new insight, from experienced kinksters; then, it remained interesting, as I delved into various and sundry topics; yet, recently, after about a year of perusing the boards, Collarme seems almost mundane to me. Many of the questions (even mine) seem to have been asked and answered before; much of the discussion appears in the record prior ... it just ... well ... it's just less interesting, I guess ... is the nicest way I can put it.

My libido hasn't changed (that I know of), and, my circumstances are about the same (ok, so I got laid off, paid well, and then found a new job after three months and I had a wonderfully kinky girlfriend for a brief period during that time but that's pretty normal stuff for most people). Assuming nothing else (in me) has changed, then I wonder (to myself) why Collarme is just a lot less interesting to me (I don't think Collarme changed in that time period).

Partly it may be due to the allure wearing off ... for example, clicking through profile by photo is a great teaser but the reality is something altogether different as are the discussions in the collarme email that come my way, most, if not all, of which peter out after a half dozen or so exchanges w/o meeting. Maybe reality sinks in? Maybe I've heard it all? Dunno. Is this typical?

Has this happened to others? Do you ever get the "second wind"? Or does Collarme just fade away (hopefully to be replaced by something anew)?

Honey it's as if you're speaking right from my heart! I left..I came back..then took a break..aaaaand now I'm going to be taking another break, probably permanent. It's not able to keep my interest for long.

Maybe it's just because it's the same babble day in day out? I don't know but I think the posts here are mostly homogeneous..so you get bored after a little while.
It's just like this news site I read daily, people there can blog next to the articles. I used to enjoy reading them but eventually I discovered..it's the same babble about every article, there's only so much diversity in it and eventually it's repetition and more repetition blogs about various articles.

I will have been here 5 years soon!

I still love this place!
The key for me, is being VERY selective about what I read, and

even more selective about what I don't read, and posts and posters
I skip over.
I have no reason to leave, I am very capable of not reading the topics, that

do not interest me.

Did I mention I love this place?

all depends on what you're looking for.  if you're new and in need of information, it can be a great resource, but you're only new for so long.  if you enjoy the discussions about life events, humor, opinions of issues and so on, it can be new every day in one subject or another.  it helps to have varied interests in a number of subjects so you're visiting various forums and maybe not here every day but every few days.

For us, I am going on 3 years here and I am still enjoying it. I love the forums, the people (have met many in real life) and I found my Fox here. He has been here more than a year as well, but he does get disenchanted with the forums more because of the light he sees submissive men casting themselves in than anything else. We both see posts that make us embarassed to be even vaguely associated with "those" people.

But overall, which CM isnt my only site, it is my favorite. It is not just a forum to me, it is a connection to a great many very dear friends who I happen to live too far from to see as often as Id like.

Yep, my interest waxes and wanes.  There have been times that I stayed away for a couple months because nothing was catching my attention or interest.
But I always come back eventually.  Even when the topics are same old/same old, there is usually a few people who make me see it with fresh eyes or allow me to re-think and clarify my own point of view.

I know I sure get bored with the forums.  It seems like if you aren't part of the major clique here, have a different opinion than everyone else, or you have different kinks, no one really acknowledges your opinions or input.  It's like an adult internet version of high school.

I think I have periods of around 6 month of interest in collarme. Then I loose interest 1 or 2 months and come back .Right now I am kinda at the start of the 1/2 months of "not interested"

I get bored with the topics, not so much the entire concept.

There is only so many 'he/she lied to me', 'he/she whipped me then never returned my emails' threads one can read before you want to slap someone silly.

But, I, like others, am gone and back.  Maybe I am on vacation or concentrating on the guy I am currently screwing.  In general not bored, there is always something really cool and different at least once a week that is refreshing.

I cant say I get bored. I like CM and read or post when i feel the need. This though is just a part of my life, so I dont rely on it for any more then learning. I have met some wonderful people here and do have respect for a lot of the posters.

I wouldn't say I get bored with the site. I just go through moods, times where I haven't the patience to read the same old slog about the same stuff, over and over.

The Off Topic threads have been that way lately. The same people with the same "yada yada yada". So, instead of jumping in and try to change something that is unable to change ( opinionated narrow minds ) I just leave them alone.

Besides, it is coming to the time of year I have things to do that don't involve sitting on my ass with a computer on my lap.

I get bored on a daily basis & wander off & do other stuff, then come back to see if anything interesting has happened in my absence.  Kinda like life, I reckon.

Yes, I get bored with it in cycles. There is a definite *seen it, heard it, read it* aspect after a while and I just log in less and less.

I have been back and forth here for over five years and I met my present partner here.
Like all sites, the content is only as good as the people who make it. Over the years many have come and gone but there are still some of the same names and same profile pictures coming up that were here five years ago. I often ponder on what they really look like now five years on!

We see the same questions coming up year after year. This is entirely expected as most of the new posts come from new members and lets face it, there is only so much that can be asked/discussed on a site such as this. The sort of thing that does put me off this site is that annoying minority who point out sarcastically that they have seen it all before. If a serious question is asked and one really feels they are above answering it with any intelligence then I wish they would just ignore the post.

We make these boards what they are. If we want it to be interesting and want to come back day after day then we have to make them interesting by using them constructively.

I find this will only hold my attention for so long.

Thanks for your comment YoursMistress
I am sure some of the posts are old hat, and I am sure that I am guilty of that too. Yet, many are still exploring and finding things out about themselves, and isnt old hat to them..like me;) Many do thirst for others experiences and ideas.

I've been on CM for approximately a year and a half and though I love the forums and my friends (hey sexy JD), at times it's a bit too much ad nauseum.

I carefully pick and chose the topics I read and may go weeks without posting, but I still have a lot of love for CM.  It's where I met my Sweetie, ahem...Sir.

Although that sounds good surely those two statements are equivalent so one isn't required? How can you be more selective in what you don't read as opposed to less selective about what you do read.

I'm going to paint a boat today but only if I choose to not paint it.

After 5 years you get a sense of what interests you and what does not.
I can only read so many, "What is BDSM?, "you insert question here", threads.
If I find the topic boring, or if I find certain poster's annoying, I skip it, it is not rocket science.
Speed reading, browsing and selective reading, can be your friend.
