am... yes on line Dom with bad spelling should of know me 8 years ago the last post was with Word P so I don’t know why you can't understand it (kicks word P)

If I had been as clueless when I was submissive, as some of the subs on the forums lately...

Because of something said in a post by someone I respect a lot, I decided to be a bit kinder or more flexable when dealing with certain things on the other side, trying to be a bit more understanding. I let someone slavish talk to me that I normally wouldn't have spoken to. He started that worthless... ignorant... newbie... lost... only limit's and do whatever my dominant says bit. I quickly, no mincing of words told him to cut that shit out of the conversation and get real with me. Within moments... I was talking to a different man. Of course I don't still talk to him and have gone back to my less kind and flexable, understanding stance.. but it proved to me, a lot of it is an act. I think a lot of that comes from some of the chat room expectations and play.

There seems to be a lot of people who are used to dysfunctional relationships and have few skills, but still... the extreme ignorance and lost is way too hard to believe.

hm!! - the rules of engagement are the same here as anywhere, more so probably.

i think people get swept along by the fantasy of on line, its all so exciting and fun. bells ring and little red flags pop up from time to time but they ignore them because they want to believe it will all work out in the end with the wonderful caring Dom theyve found.

i honestly do believe that these women believe that we have wall to wall good guys queing up to sweep us sweet s'types off our feet and that there really couldnt possibly be any selfish egocentric fantasists lurking in the shadows behind the computer screen.

it beggars belief i know - when i started out aol had a Dominance and Submission chat board, along with other harmless things like oragarmy for beginners, and of course it was filled with naive idiots, and i was one of them, squabbling and squaking and having lots of fun. predators swooped down on us from time to time and one by one we got picked off - well, i was smart, ofcourse

and told most of them to fuck off. there was one experienced Domme who kinda kept a wary eye on us all, bless her and took me under her wing a little bit. but i saw the madness back then, women of all ages getting seriously more than they bargained for and coming back on to the D/s board shrieking blue murder. they lived to tell the tale, or im supposing they did, some never came back atall.

I just experienced a perfect example. I mailed a young woman in the UK, couple days ago, who posted that her mistress wanted to sell her. Sense like all things that were at wonce common were used up by those who did not understand it's value.

Today like many non-renewable sources we are forced to find alternatives.

Common Sense has been outsourced to such ideas as "I read it in a Book", "This guy who does real well said I should", "The News says people do it all the time." and "I'll learn as I go."

Sure these all have symptoms of success but more often than not the desired result is not achieved.

I suggest that we focus on the creation of Common Sense the Archaic practice of education and explanation rather than shaming for not already knowing and trite comments.

"Common" Sence has been reduced to Semi-Precious or Precious Sense which not currently outstandingly valuable is not found just anywhere you look as it once was.

It really has me wondering how many really are as brainless and clueless and senseless (common or otherwise) as they come off and how many are just playing with all of us. Gotta be pretty close because if all of them are as they come off then the planet is doomed.

What the OP said certainly seems obvious and I'm sure it's been said before and will be said again. Unfortunately, the people who need to read it and adhere to it most are the least likely to do so.
