Also I don’t typically first launch personal attacks, but I do respond to them.  All depending on the level of the initial attack is the harshness of my response.  That’s why i haven’t launched any attacks here ;) I always try to attack the persons POV without attacking the person.  If someone is attacking me personally then thats something else. Now some people must like what I’m doing since I get emails from people who view the boards but don’t post.  There emails basically say they like what I’m saying on the message boards and don’t stop  ;)

So the "silent majority"is making itself heard once again....I was wondering where those people went to.

LOL But yeah, He shoulda gotten a rescued pit. imho. Those poor dogs have gotten the worst rap because of cruel owners.

Sorry, I've said my peace, Please don't kill me.

My experience with pit bulls is that they are usually ok unless mistreated by the owners.  But for a family dog you really want to be sure that the breed is going to be tolerant of youngsters.

True, but breed isn't usually a determining factor in tolerance, Training is. I have a pit and he was very stubborn, but he now is like a big baby and plays very well and very gently with the neighborhood children, some as young as 1 year.

But no more, I don't want to hijack the topic. The portugese waterdogs scare me. I don't like not being able to see my dogs face, I might get very confused... like "are you asleep or staring intently at me?"

I like that the 1st Lady is insisting on a rescue, over store bought/breeder dogs.Sets a good example.

She`s also insisting that the girls do the do-do clean ups.

Un-like the previous tenant, who had other`s cleaning up the piles of poop.

Kinda like the bush admin needed.he-he Wow,what a metaphor!

Kidding,........this is all about the dog. That and the girls learning responsibility of ownership.

Most breeds have rescue groups that are specific to that breed in addition to all the  private shelters around the country.  One of my friends has 2 Golden Retrievers that he found that way.

My neighbor puts their hair up in a poof sticking straight up from their head, so they can see. It's not much of an improvement.

I'd agree with the poor pits though. :( Poor little guys. I hate when a whole batch of them have to be put down because idiots raise them to fight eachother.

I imagine this is one place that President & I would likely be quoted the same, when addressing his family; "I've got better thing to dwell on than what breed of dog we have to have, pick something". He probably didn't really give a damned either way and just wanted the family to decide something, so the "media" would just back off and quit asking.

In other words, great, glad they decided. Do I care? Not really.

Wow, this thread got kind of ridiculous.

Anyways! My friend's mom has a 12 year old standard poodle/portugese water dog mix, and it's absolutely the sweetest dog in the universe (even though she used to chew on my sleeping bag whenever I slept over).

It's...... a........ dog.  I highly doubt this is going to be the pivoting decision of the next four years.

The presidential family deciding on a breed of dog even made the news here in Germany, as did the death of Socks.

I like it that they will be getting a rescue, setting a good example.

First time Ive seen one, thanks for the links:) Ithink for me it would be fine with short short lab cut but not the poodle frou frou. (I had some bad experiences with poodle and chihauhuah  owners when I was little, but big assed dogs , I love em.)

They are!

They have the temperament of a teddy bear.Soft and clean,no drool. They can get up to a 100 lbs. or as small as 25.

Saw a year old at the dog park yesterday.Boy, what a goofy fun dog he was.My rosie likes to rough-house and run hard and the other dog was way ok w/ that.

As far as the deep political ramifications of PODUS pets goes,it`s a chance to F`n lighten up.

Lord knows ,we need it.
