i quoted Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton from 2001 to prove my point.
Bill Clinton said that “I did better with the Palestinians and the Israelis… than I’ve done with Socks and Buddy.”

shake, you are being obnoxious and counter-productive with your singled minded obsession of any views contrary to your own.  And it is dirty sportsmanship to fall into the bickering and personal attacks.  Somehow you have reached whatever number of years without learning basic social graces and that does not serve you well either here or in the real world.

Many of the regulars in the Off-Topic Forum may not agree but they show respect for each other and can concede points or appreciate a different view.  Heretic and I do not see eye to eye on many issues but are fond of each other none the less.

What point was that? So the cat and dog didn't get a long and he found the cat a good home to live in. Sorry but of all the things I have heard bad about BC, this is one tops the list of who cares. As to the latest addition to the Obama family, I think it is great. I am a firm believer in kids having pets and I hope he is happy in his new home. Oh and to the poster who said he was fugly....Did you see the pic of the hairless dog someone wanted to send them. Now that was fugly.

Anyways! My friend's mom has a 12 year old standard poodle/portugese water dog mix, and it's absolutely the sweetest dog in the universe (even though she used to chew on my sleeping bag whenever I slept over).

Does it have a name yet?   Some radio station was running a "Name The First Dog" contest this morning, and one of the front-running suggestions was "Bark Obama"

One of the reasons why i love quoting my first post is that you can see how something started....but it’s looked down on here.

I had said in response to someone talking about Barney attacking reporters at the whitehouse.-----

i think barney is out of the whitehouse hanging out at bushs ranch ;)
and socks was thrown away to a former clinton aide.

Then someone said socks had made a connection with the aide.  Then i posted the quote of bill clinton to prove socks had a problem with buddy the dog.

Actually, Shake, I raised the possibility they had bonded after you decided no discussion of anything would be complete without a poorly executed cheap shot at old Wild Bill.  And I fail to see why the eternal struggle between canine and feline would negate my suggestion.

What's the point of covering the page with acres of quoted material, when the reply, all the way at the bottom, only proves you didn't comprehend what was quoted?

And wouldn't sending Barney to live on the ranch, while George and Laura enjoy the new place in Dallas amount to "throwing him away to the hired help?"

The cat was Chelsea’s and not bill or Hillary’s.  Bill loved the dog but not the cat. The two animals did not get along from day one.  Since Chelsea was gone to college and the Clintons were leaving the Whitehouse the cat was dumped to an aide. I think bushes will still be around Barney.

Did anybody know Bushs cat died in early January this year?  Not as big news as clintons cat eh???

Bush family’s 18-year-old cat diesIndia, a black American shorthair, was named after a pro ballplayer
updated 11:46 a.m. ET, Mon., Jan. 5, 2009 WASHINGTON - The first family leaving the White House this month will be without one of its longtime members: the Bush family's 18-year-old cat has died. The first lady's office said Monday that India, a black American shorthair named for former Texas Rangers player Ruben Sierra, died Sunday at the White House.Bush daughter Barbara, then 9, named the cat “India” after Sierra, a former major league player, whose nickname was "El Indio." President George W. Bush was a former co-owner of the Texas Rangers.

shake has a problem comprehending what he reads or posts.  It has been a repeated scenario.  Heretic, don't waste your time it will only make your eyes bleed and fuel his legions of fans to pm him and applaud his witty and well thought out retorts.
