I guess I just didn't see that darned asterisk that was floating in the air over his head.

Did you notice how Holder insists that it's for the good of our friends in Mexico?

Yeah, and I'm like you. I'm neither shocked nor surprised, and I do recall a friend of mine saying (at the time he made that promise) that because of his anti-gun voting history, Obama was probably lying.

Status: offline 		NObama is indeed right on schedule...continuing to do exactly the same thing he did during his campaign...break promise after promise...perpetrate lie after lie...which justifies my primary reason for not voting for him.  Fool me once Obama, shame on you.  Fool me twice Obama, shame on me. Try fooling me thrice Obama, NObama!

Remember also when NObama supported the District of Columbia's (unConstitutional) ban on all hand guns?
Remember also that NObama supports the "Fairness Doctrine".
NObama wants to take away people's CONSTUTIONAL RIGHTS to bear arms and free speach!

I caught a lot of flack here just the other day for my comments on his speech when I said I didn't watch it because he's proven himself a liar, and that his words don't mean anything.

And here he is coming to back me up, what a guy.

Status: offline 		Hopefully, it'll take a few more months to get this implemented. The assault rifle I ordered around November 6th had about a 5-month waiting period, so hopefully I'll have it in a month and a half or so. I'm predicting it will somehow turn up missing, along with all the 19-round magazines, shortly thereafter.

Status: offline 		I've penned several gun threads here since election day and all of Obama's cheer leaders have assured me that The Messiah had bigger fish to fry. That must be some bitchin' Kool-Aid they have been drinking. I am so glad that I acted immediately and purchased my handgun and got my permit. I bought a simple 9mm pistol that came with two 16 shot clips. Nothing even remotely excessive or anyhting that would qualify as an "assault weapon" bit those very clips were banned under the old weapons ban.

Status: offline 		Not unexpected at all. Man can't keep a promise, oh wait, "reasonable" ... standard fudge-factor word. Reasonable? For me, it would be reasonable to keep 50+ guns. No different than some people collect cars, stamps, knives, floggers, etc.

And before it comes up...the guy with 50 guns is much less of a threat than the punk who buys one out of the back of vehicle that has the serial numbers ground off. Who would you want to live next door to?

Can someone plese tell me what situation you think is going to come up where you will reasonably NEED an assault rifle handy? Or is it just this complete misinterpetation what the right to bear arms was put in the constitution for in the first place that makes you all freak out anytime someone tries to put any kind of gun control in place?

We have serious problems, people..and this one aint one of them.

The second amendment is not there so you can protect yourself against marauders, rapists, robbers and all sort of land pirates, the second amendment is there so you can protect yourself against the GOVERNMENT. Get it ?

Read the amendment, not between the lines, read the lines and carefully note the placement of the comma.

It has the side effect of enabling you to protect yorself from criminals, which BTW, did you ever have a backyard full of bikers who decided to get rowdy ? I have. So consider that also as an answer to your question.

Edited to add what I was going to write before I read the last question.

Coming after the guns and getting them are obviously two different things. Cities with strict laws can't get them all, noplace can get them all. Just forget those Tshirts, belt buckles and bumper stickers and you might be OK if you don't do anything stupid. How about a headline like this :

Six agents dead, Man wanted on gun possesion charges flees country with large amount of cash. Had no prior criminal record.

I would love to see a headline like that, because it might just go to show these MFs that we are not just going to line up for the gulag or whatever future BS they might pull. WE KNOW they are out of control. WE KNOW they are not loyal to us and WE KNOW that they are outright thieves.

Under these conditions do you really think it is a good time to be unarmed ?

seems to me that the founding fathers wanted the populas as well armed as the government, This would tie in to the statement by ben franklyn saying to the woman who asked what kind of Gov did you give us , his answer . A republic ma'am if you can keep it, also dove tails with the statement of Abe lincoln

our safety , our liberty, depends upon preserving the Constitution of the united states as our fathers made it inviolate. Status: offline 		Great Grand Dad owned a farm, He raised Cattle and Goats and has his own Natural Spring and well on his property where 80% of his farming watter came from during the Great Depression. One night the people in his town thought he had to many Animals and decided to butcher a few. The Rifle only had so many bullets and eventually he was over taken.

I believe an Assult Rifle would have come in handy then. Grandpa was a Boy at the time and talking about it as a fully grown Man before his storke he would get wispy, Apparently the Beat Great Grand Dad so bad that it changed him from that point on.

I believe that there is a change coming that will illicit the second civil war. I want an assult Rifle for that. I wish to protect myself and what is mine from those who wish to take it and 6 to 15 bullets just won't cover it.

If the goverment wants to get involved in this that is fine just realize that it will cause what it caused last time an unimaginable amount of gun running from other countries and such. Gun Running Flourishes when laws prevent thier legal sale meaning that unregistered assult rifles become more common place. I would rather a Registered Assult Rifle than an Unregistered one.

It's not about you and your firearm...it's about the concern for the safety of others.

I'm all about firearm rights (stop saying gun...if you really cared about your weapon you'd address it appropriately) and I respect a man or woman who chooses to own a weapon. In fact I'm looking into purchasing my own. No civilian needs an automatic anything those deer can't run that fast and if it's the military you're afraid of...they have nuclear weapons and tanks...your automatic ain't gonna hold up against that.

you seem to have a problem reading or understanding the written word.
last four words , shall not be infringed .
get a dictionary and look up the words.
they were pretty damn serious about this.

First of all, I know the amendment. Thank you very much.

However, as pointed out, the founding fathers framed the second amendment with the idea that sometime down the line, another revolution would become necessary to bring down the government and bring a new one into power. To quote Thomas Jefferson, "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

Now, is is anybody's opinion that there is any way that the private citizenry is going to be able to match tanks, jets, grenades, bazookas and all the other hardware at the disposal of the government? It aint just a question of "we have muskets, they have muskets" anymore. We're seriously outgunned and will continue to be no matter how many 9mm's or sub machine guns that you own.  And as nice as it would be for us all to be allowed to have our own personal tacticle nuclear weapons, it's kind of impracticle.

But since you hold the constitution so sacrocent....do you have any qualms with amendments other than the second being taken away? I would have had a lot more respect for you second amendment folk if you had viewed the Patriot Act as a huge violation of our rights against illegal search and seizure, our rights to privacy and so on.

Why is it the second amendment is the only one that the gun folks seem to get up in arms about? (pardon the pun)
