Ok. This isn't funny. I should find this inspiring, or heroic, or least feel some compassion. I shouldn't be snickering at the mental image of the forklift. I don't, and I am.

what makes me ill are those who were enabling him. The guy was bed fast for a long time, which means his "friends" had to be carting in groceries and feeding him.

He's lost over 500 pounds already and this is going to help him be more active so he can continue the long difficult journey back to full health.

But yeah, whale on beach does come to mind.

And Yet Oddly enough we Rally when someone mentions the amount of overweight Doms, Dommes, and subs in this lifestyle, Yet because this guy is bigger than all of them it's okay?

I find this sad, and even more sad are the comments about this guy. Yes he is Unhealthy and Yes he is Fat but he is still a Human Being and should not be treated like he is somehow sub-human because of his weight.

I watch all those shows about the bedridden fat people... well, I watch all the freak shows generally, to see what my brethren are up to... but yes, those folks are seriously enabled. Want to be appalled? Watch the one about the 800 lb teenager. The relationship between him and his mom? SKEEEERY!

I'm inclined to agree with this, especially after a conversation with a few of my girl friends today. We were talking about about body image issues and how hateful people can be with respect to people who are a little overweight, not to mention morbidly obese. If this were to happen to your child, you would be devestated as a parent. There's really no difference, these people are still someone's kids.

The sad stuff is watching the fat parents eating crappy food with their fat kids... it's a horrible cycle of bad health, and so incredibly difficult to break! Getting kids to eat decently is enough of a challenge, I can only imagine how it must be when there's a giant array of junk to tempt them!

      Puh-lease, Red... This is not about just baby-fat. This is a man who needs a forklift to move from one bed to another, and is having a Chevy cut into a Jazzy.

     I like bacon cheeseburgers, and it shows. This is funny as hell.

I was chubby growing up, and yes I got teased. I wasn't any less active than my school chums. I was just chubby until I was around 17. Add to that, I was awkard and I had horrible acne. I wasn't popular; I didn't even go to my prom. I didn't date actively until I went to college; I know all about kids being cruel. But this guy is an adult.

I'm not trying to be a dick. But this guy weighs half a ton; that's 1,000 pounds. He isn't just chubby. He's a grown man and he's facing certain death at a young age. It's no different than a drunk who polishes off a half gallon of bourbon every day. I'd like to feel sorry for him, but he's done it to himself. He didn't do this to himself by eating salads and trips to the gym.
