I would actually like to see Cheney on the receiving end of some of that stuff they were doing in Gitmo. And Palin, through a scope, slogging through the snow, as I fly over her in a helicopter. Rove........I haven't thought of a good torture for yet, maybe send him down with Cheney, as cell mates.

I'm not even touching that! There's no right answer, to be truthful. It's lose-lose. I'd be more glib but I don't quite feel like getting a full flame when I'm not being serious.

"A pilgrimage?"
I'd be happy with a quiet efficient manager.
Why do those "reporters" have to read their own bullshit into this? Does anyone want a "rock star" for president? I mean is that kind of stuff really neccessary?
Sounds to me like a few people in the press biz are struggling with their maturity.
Do these people think they're still in college writing research papers or something?

Given the international challenges the US faces and the state our economy is in, watching the White House engage in a food fight with a talk radio host strikes me as one click short of having Bluto as President.

Gosh cory, thanks for that. This explains why now, Newt is speaking out against Limbaugh, there's a major cover peice coming out in Newsweek this week entitled "Why Rush is Wrong!" (written by some prominent republicans) and now, according to a recent poll, the republicans in congress are now 20% against what has happened with is power grab, post CPAC.
And this is just the beginning.
Let the GOP backlash begin! (Not that it's going to help their position any. These guys have screwed their own pooch in so many ways, it's going to take years of hard work for them to regain any credibility.) The party of Rush "I want the President to fail" Limbaugh, Sarah "I can see Russia from my house" Palin, and Joe "I'm not a real plumber but I can pontificate on national issues" the Plumber... Man, how the mighty have fallen...

All I need now, to really make this complete, is to see Rove behind bars, Cheany dead from a heart attack, and seeing Palin in court to defend her drug pushing sister in law.

The White House attacks Limbaugh in an attempt to divert attention from an administration that is floundering, and one of Obama's "disciples" wishes Cheany dead from a heart attack  I think Obama is the most dangerous threat to our way of life but would never wish harm to the "Man" only his politics. Is this the level of discourse that liberals have sunk..irational, mindless threats.

But even a broken clock is right twice a day...and it will take the republican party a few years to recoup and come back, and so on this point we agree.  However, while it might have taken ten years, Pelosi's rape of the treasury, Obama's betrayal of people who trusted he meant "change" for the better instead of floundering, shoot from the hip, radical "same old same old" democrat liberal politics. Even a decided partisan comic like Jon Stewart jokes about Obama at the White House being a re-invention of Macaulay Culkin at the Plaza Hotel and the White House turned into "Neverland" by the end of his first term.  What an embarrassment. But still I would never wish him harm.  The terrible way in which Obama met with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown was an embarrassment to the country when the White House said that the President's crowded diary made it impossible to give more time to Mr Brown rang hollow after it emerged that his other engagements included a routine speech to the Department for Interior and a meeting with the Boy Scouts of America.   We all shared in that shameful greeting of America's closest ally...but I would never wish him dead.  Shame on those that would wish that on anyone who serves the country but differs politically. Shame!

Actually, Cory, I can easily defend Obama. In fact, 60% of those polled, myself among them, think that he's doing a good job so far. Is he perfect? Of course not. There are a couple of things he's come up with that really bug me. But all in all, I give him a solid B+ for his time so far.

And btw...just because I can and gladly will defend Obama, it doesn't keep me from attacking Rush Limbaugh. I know that it won't change the minds of those who've drunk the far right cool aid....but it may shine a spotlight on just how valuless (other than entertianment value) his positions are.

You know, cory, feel free to keep repeating your talking points.

I'm not going to keep talking smack against the GOP's recent history anymore.

The party has become so disorganized, so rudderless in the last few weeks, and it so utterly lacks any real power to effect any change in the US, that to do so just leaves me feeling dirty by doing so.

Talking against the GOP now is like being the mean kid on the schoolyard who picks on the "special needs" kid. Yeah, you can do it, but you feel like shit in doing so. So, I've decided to be nice, and let you just spout off as you like. Maybe after the republicans manage to get their shit together and rise above their "retard" status, I'll talk about them again.

The American Conservative Magazine

"How Radio Wrecks the Right"

http://www.amconmag.com/article/2009/feb/23/00006/

"Limbaugh and company certainly entertain. But a steady diet of ideological comfort food is no substitute for hearty intellectual fare."

"You can’t help but admire Rush Limbaugh’s talent for publicity. His radio talk show is probably—reliable figures only go back to 1991—in its third decade as the number-one rated radio show in the country. And here he is in the news again, trading verbal punches with the president of the United States.

Limbaugh remarked on Jan. 16 that to the degree that Obama’s program is one of state socialism, he hopes it will fail. (If only he had said the same about George W. Bush.) The president riposted at a session with congressional leaders a week later, telling them, “You can’t just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done.” Outsiders weighed in: Limbaugh should not have wished failure on a president trying to cope with a national crisis; Obama should not have stooped to insult a mere media artiste, the kind of task traditionally delegated to presidential subordinates while the chief stands loftily mute. Citizens picked sides and sat back to enjoy the circus."

~~~~~~~~~~~
Ouch!  lol
What a warped sense of reality corysub has. Seeing everything through a lens that's filtered to let nothing through but ridiculously partisan neo-conservative slanted views.
     I'd say something about "so much for liberals being tolerant," but nobody believes that old wives tale anymore, anyway.
        Aravain, the most successful relationship anyway in my family, over 40 years and going strong, is between a yellow-dog Dem, and a Limbaugh/Dr. Laura spouting conservative.  I don't see it political differences as being a sticking point.
       Now people who make politics a hard limit?  To me, THAT is a hard limit.
