I have been paying for healthcare as well...and have not seen a change in more than a few years of a more than a few percentage points.  It's only me and my wife so maybe that makes a difference.  However, a 70% increase seems unreal.  I don't know  your provider but we use United Healthcare....maybe you should give them a call.  And even though I pay..I don't want "free" healthcare..with some bureacrat making decisions on my doctor, her therapy, tests that I am allowed to take, my meds that my doctor will be allowed to script on a "cost/benefit basis, etc.

Anthem BC/BS, but I'll look into United.

Haven't really shopped yet, I complained about the 35% increase last year but let it go.  But with another 35% increase
this year it's getting ridiculous.

It's not just my health insurance though.

All my insurance policies have been going up at unbelievable rates.

My homeowner's insurance, which again I have never made a claim on, nearly doubled this year.

And by the way, some bureaucrat IS already making decisions on your doctor, your therapy, and your tests.  It's just an insurance company bureaucrat instead of a government bureaucrat.

The coverage for my employees went up 50% through BC/BS as of January 1st. and the group isn't large enough for most other carriers. Most of My employees are part-time and so the group is large but, few that qualify yet all count against the number. Private insurance is no bargain for the employer and the coverage gets worse each year for the employee.

I called a number of times to try to find why my premiums went up so drastically, after having remained fairly stable for 10 years, and was told that it was the decision of the state regulatory board which allowed the increases.

Which is in fact true, but still does not explain the reasons for the increases, other than these companies are losing their shirts on their outside investments.

Say, rule, that's what happened with malpractise in the late '80s.  Finally an insurance company acknowledged that their investment income dropped like a rock, so they made it up with premiums.  All the while squawking about tort reform.

In actuality, Obama's rating  actually trail George Bush at this stage of their administrations, and are well behind Jimmy Carter, undoubtedly the worst President of the 20th century!

It is funny that when you input your own thoughts that they fail dramatically.

http://www.gallup.com/poll/113770/Bush-Presidency-Closes-34-Approval-61-Disapproval.aspx
Bottom Line
Bush has what most would consider the unwanted distinction of registering one of the lowest final job approval ratings of any modern president leaving office at the natural end of his term, and the highest disapproval. While his approval rating has improved since Election Day, the vast majority of Democrats and even most independents still disapprove of how he is handling the job. Only Republicans generally approve of the job Bush is doing, but that may, in fact, be just fine with a president who says his goal has been to do what he believed is right, not what would make him popular.

http://www.usnews.com/articles/news/history/2009/02/17/historians-rank-george-w-bush-among-worst-presidents.htm

The worst presidents, according to the survey, were James Buchanan at 42, Andrew Johnson at 41, Franklin Pierce, William Henry Harrison, Warren Harding, Millard Fillmore, George W. Bush, John Tyler,
Herbert Hoover, and Rutherford B. Hayes.

Can we finally face the fact that the only reason Ann Coulter is around is that even conservatives have enough taste to want to pork her than Rush Limbaugh?

And I'm sorry for using the word "pork"

I remember many times in chat rooms before the 04 election some subs would ask me about my profile after spotted the conservative stuff.  Some would ask if it was a joke.  Then poof many would vanish.  Some others subs personality would change instantly and became angry as if i betrayed them in some way and then they would vanish.

If you actually read what was said
you would notice the key words "STAGE OF THEIR ADMINISTRATIONS" Now that means at that point in each presidents first 100 days in office. Ill make it even simpler for you to understand.  That would be bush’s approval numbers in March 2001 vs Obama in March of 2009.
And you insult George bush’s intelligence....just remember people who live in glass houses  ;)
