I've had it done and seen a couple of demos on it. You don't need to put any alcohol or anything inside the cup or on the skin. You can make a mini torch from a dowel, wrapped in an unraveled cotton ball, then covered in a cotton cloth, like jersey or the finger tips cut off a cotton glove. Then, tie it on with some cotton twine. Dip it in alcohol, hold it inside the cup for a few second and put the cup onto the skin. The point is to heat the air inside the cup, not necessarily the glass itself. You can use a blow dryer directed inside the cup to get the same effect, or hot water. If you apply some mineral oil to the skin first, the cups can be moved around while maintaining the suction, for a completely different experience. Be careful buying candle holders or things like that. Often the glass isn't very thick and could easily break. Also, check for any rough spots on the rim. Throw it out if it has any. Cups designed for this have a larger lip and generally don't have any rough spots. A thin lip can really hurt or possibly even cut if the suction is strong enough. In terms of the cups themselves, I bought a set for someone from an alternative medicine website. I bought two x-large, two large, two medium, and two small cups for less than $30. Here's the site, if anyone is interested. http://www.lhasaoms.com There was actually a mix up in the shipping, and I was contacted immediately and personally, and it was corrected with no problems. I would definitely buy from them again. Thanks for reading my two cents. :) M
