Yeah...I just went with young, pretty, and poor...but smart (thank you Ron White, you really can't fix stupid). I have no prob helping him out while he is in school (though the GI Bill pays for tuition so it really is just helping out with living expenses). When I have tried men closer to my age it just don't work out so when give the option between young & poor vs well-established and older it was a no brainer. I do well enough for myself with my own career that their being 'established' is not a selling point if it comes attached with someone who also happens to be an insufferable bore. As an ex corporate wife, I might miss some of the perks, but I much rather be able to have an identity outside of my mate's. As for porn, I agree that part of the issue is that the consumer for porn tends to be middle aged guys (level of attractiveness being total subjective, I leave that one on the side). When I have talked to other guys about this, they really do seem to feel themselves that it has to do with the ability to see themselves in the roll of the man (regardless of what that roll is). Where that leaves all the pretty young things with a porn budget? Either making their own or just not caring (these ARE men we are talking about [;)])

~FR~ There's this pervading misconception that apparently younger men can't be as established, as settled, as comfortable around women, etc. as older men. This is a ridiculous assumption to make. There's also the misconception that those 'young subs' always want someone to "care" for them. That's silly too. It boils down to attraction, and WHAT you're attracted to. I would never pursue a relationship with someone not in my age group... and it's entirely because I'm not interested in it. I'm relatively 'average' in my maturity for my age... I want someone similar for a mate. I don't want a 'young at heart' old dude, neither do I want a 'really mature' young one. Neither makes sense to me... FOR ME. For others, I get it though. And there are good reasons for the term "merry widow". Think of how many younger women were married off to older men who eventually died and left their wives property and money. The widows were no longer virgins and no longer obligated to produce offspring. The best thing you can do is not worry about what everyone else is doing, and focus on yourself. Find someone who enjoys you for who you are, and quit worrying about what anyone else is doing. You will find that you are happier when you aren't so focused on stuff that you can't change, and has no bearing on your situation.

(Though I did appreciate those who helped to enlighten Me about the porn industry.) I think part of the issue of the OP was that the balance wasn't being seen. There are some people who are of the mind that, on a purely superficial basis, that the hottest commodity going as far as bottoms, would be young, attractive, hot women. (The males will have to back Me up on that one.) For the Top side, it's something different. It's skill and experience. Often, those things happen to come with age. So, if you're a hot bondage babe looking to get your rope kink on, are you going to go for the cute, perhaps younger guy who's still learning ties, or are you going to go for the dude who's got a couple of decades worth of ropes under his belt?
