Sanity -> RE: Keith Olbermann and the Twitter mess ... (3/30/2009 11:10:07 AM)

Worse than an idiot, the guy is a fringe idiot. He has NO ratings...

I half expect him to be committed to an insane asylum any day now. Just imagine - he could have a really nice rubber studio, and continue to pretend that he has an audience from there!

No one seems to be surprised that Olbermann is an idiot, then?

Thank you kitten. It's a self portrait... I did it just this last Saturday. I liked the way light and shadow played in this one. And I've got to say, I've always admired your pictures as well!

I take your word for it. I'm sure you're not at all bias.

The word is "biased", and of course I am. Everyone is. At least my biases are based on education and experience, not bumper stickers. (I'm not saying yours are...apparently you're just too young to know better.)

There is a huge difference. You are lazy. You could care less about facts or being accurate. You present anything no matter how erroneous that will back your unfounded views. You are typical of the closed minded "right."

pot meet kettle. Refute my positions or stop ranting.

kittinSol -> RE: Keith Olbermann and the Twitter mess ... (3/30/2009 12:09:27 PM)

What is your position again? That your biases are based on education and experience? That's the position that's got to be refuted? How can one refute it? Nobody here knows your personally.

Let me see if I understand this correctly.Everyone is biased,Okay I have no problem with that.
Your "biases are based on education and experience"....well I won't argue with that(not enough*cough, cough* information to mount a credible argument)
"not bumper stickers"....alright see this is where you lost me.Was it your education or is it your experience's that lead you to insinuate that other people's(those that disagree with you?) biases were gleaned from bumper stickers?

"bumper sticker" mentality is a comment on the depth of the thinking of many, not all, on this board, and not everyone who disagrees with me falls into that category. That doesnt take experience or education beyond a junior high reading level to see.  And yes, I do seperate opinion posts from (supposedly) factual posts. Eg. the "belief" that health care is a right is an opinion. That societies only prosper under competition and that lack of competition stifles productivity are facts. It is up to those who believe health care is a right to reconcile the two or refute the facts.

slvemike4u -> RE: Keith Olbermann and the Twitter mess ... (3/30/2009 2:13:47 PM)

As soon as you present some "facts" .Mostly what you do is present opinion and call it fact. Not nearly the same thing, not terribly effective either.

MarsBonfire -> RE: Keith Olbermann and the Twitter mess ... (3/30/2009 3:49:26 PM)

Oh, it's worse than them just having nutcase commentators on the air... the GOP actually has some of these malignant nutcases in power!

Bobby (What the heck is volcano monitoring? I need to hold another exorcisim in my office...) Jindal, for example.

Or Larry (see you in the airport men's room, you woofy cop, you!) Craig.

Or John (only God can destroy the Earth, and we're running a carbon deficit in relation to the Cretaceous, so let's all pollute as much as possible) Shimkus.

And the republicans who voted creationisim in, in TX classrooms last week...

And the republicans who offered a joke 18 page budget last week...

And the republicans who....

Ah, well... why bother... ? I'd be typing all fucking night....

Sadly, these are real people, making real decisions that have real consequences in our lives. Want to know WHY you can't afford healthcare? Simple, the insurance companies are on the gravy train, and are willing to let you and your kids DIE so that they can protect their bottom line. Toward that end, they hire lobbiests who ply our wonderful elected officials with food, wine, women (or studly cocksmen, in the case of Craig, and others like him) and buy their votes. The only reason this shit gets talked about once in a while is because the democrats aren't QUITE as corrupt whores as the GOP side is. Once in a while, that damnable "ethics" thing goes off in their heads, and they bring up the idea of "Hey, wouldn't it be great is everyone had access to the healthcare they desperately needed?" It gets talked about for a few months, then it disappears again. Luckily for the GOP, however, they had their "ethics" surgically removed long ago.

Anyway...

Gosh, Olbermann came down on Twitter... big whoop. This compares to Limbaugh wishing the United States falls into a second great depression how? Or Beck's whimpering crying fit? Or O'Riley's stalking of 4' 7" asian women? Or that other prick (whose name escapes me at the moment) handing out "people who are ruining America" lists? (Which are later used as an excuse for gun totin' morons to open fire in a church, killing two?)

Dang, how will Twitter survive? [8|]

hmmm no accusations about derailing a thread on liberal posters when everyone of there posts was on a subject other then Keith Olbermann and the Twitter   hmmmmmm ;)

Owner59 -> RE: Keith Olbermann and the Twitter mess ... (3/30/2009 6:55:12 PM)

The big difference between KO and his opponents is credibility.Ie. getting the facts right and (until just recently w/ the advent of fox news) not making shit up or knowingly repeating bull-shit.

That fact that he pisses neo-cons/republicans off is just icing on the cake.

New Revelations In Case of Olbermann v. Twitter
OR: Why The Internet Invented The Phrase "Epic Fail"
The incompetence that led to Keith Olbermann naming Twitter the “Worst Person in the World” is staggering. He smeared the popular service, Fox News, and a fellow liberal Democrat enemy of Fox News, all because he got an email he didn’t understand, about a technology he didn’t understand, and neither he nor his staff did a click of research.
Enjoy.

[/QUOTE]

He's fringe because he has no ratings?

And I suppose that makes Fox News the bastion of truth seeing as their ratings are always high?

Nonsense.

Keith is anti-Iraq war, anti-Bush administration, pro-Obama.

Yep, Keith's views seem to fit the mainstream opinion to me.
