Because, extremely submissive males (i.e. into being beaten bloody, scarred/trampled/broken), survived/endured "hardships" during childhood/adolescence, which built “character” including intellect, even cleverness. I don’t know, just throwing this out there.

My personal opinion is that anyone...male submissive or not...who wants or is willing to be "beaten bloody, scarred/trampled/broken" is not submissive at all, and is a rather stupid person to boot.

Are you attempting to somehow prove to those who read your post that you must be intellectually superior to the average joe?

I like extreme masochists. Some of them are extremely intelligent as well as having an extremely high pain tolerance. But to say that there's a direct correlation irritates the smeg out of me, because it's bad science and ego-stroking in the extreme.

my arguement with gained knolage with hardships is you only gain it for hardships.

i am from shitty poor areas, the hardships i faced there let me deal with gangstas, cokeheads and other creatures of the night better than alot of people, but it does nothing in how i can speak to suburban people, a kid growing up in a rich envornment would have the opisite problem,
hardships do not give an extra bit of worldly cleverness, only in relation to what you have dealt with. my shitty childhood gives me no more wisdom to the world than that of a sheltered kid. i can probly take care of myself more, they can probly relax and enjoy life easier, i see neither as better or worse, both are skills that are highly disirable.

people often have some misconseption that if they have had a "shittier life" they know more than the adverage person, thats crap, shitty times just suck period. you learn how to not get into the same shitty situations from them thats it.

people handle emotion based on experiance, say you live a very sheltered life and you get heart broken at 13, it hurts as much to you as someone with a horrible upbringing, becuase you have zero tolerance to it, you dont know how to handle that pain, its foolish to compare your pains to someone elses, becuase you handle emotions and experiance differently.

to kinda give an example, i have been gay bashed several times, it never bugged me that much some people find it tramatic, as some of the stuff i find tramatic others with a simular experiance find trivial, its all in how much weight we put into things as indaviduals. i think trying to take the good out of our bad experiances is good to an extent but basicly bad shit just happens and you deal with it and continue.

any sort of hardship either turns you into a complicated mess and/or into a toughie.  i dont think being submissive has anything to do with it.

there are some very dim people out there and some very smart people out there who by coincidence happen to be sub.

it requires, in youre case clearly, high degrees of masochism and pain tolerance, which often has very little to do with submission and everything to do with the fact that you enjoy heavy play.

i think that what youre trying to say here is that youre intelilgence has provided you with the intellectual tools to deal with severe pain.  i dont think thats submission to youre M/D, i think thats submission to pain .

when im facing severe pain from Sir its Sir that keeps me there and my submission to him, not my ability to intellectualise or emotionally survive.   emotional survival is taken care of anyway, through Him and through my submission to Him.

it isnt semantics to say that there is a difference probably when its submission to pain or submission to a D or M.

submission to pain possibly necessitates some level of personal strength and intellectual capabilities to 'aftercare' youreself.  if it is to an M that you submit to then the need to intellectualise is taken away, i think, because it is purely service to them and does not need intellectualising.  says i [:D] and im probably talking bollox again

I'd say that the intelligence of anyone who has to brag to others that they're more intelligent than the general population is much lower than that of others who don't have to brag. I'd also say that anyone who is still cashing in the old, "Fucked-up childhood sympathy" chip is considerably less intelligent than others.
