Status: offline 		We are not talking about people who look and act like rejects from Jerry Springer with the arse out of their pants.. We are simply talking about people who may be on a disability pension, who may or may not have a reliable car. They may or may not always be able to afford the membership of Club Lib here or even the non members’ entry fee. Some may not have or afford a computer often because they have bills to pay and children to look after, feed, clothe and educate leaving them very little to play with… It is these people I am referring to.. Certainly I know people in and out of the lifestyle who wouldn’t give you the time of day unless you have wealth.. Heh they still talk to me and interact with me too because they know me and my family background so I could be a social asset if I played their games which I wont but they still keep trying.. A comment was made that “Talk’s cheep” I agree, but we are not talking about who you would collar or accept a collar from we are discussing if you honestly would refuse to accept as members of the life style, people who are virtually broke, just making ends meet and yet are good lifestyle people….

  Harleys as posing machines?? Tell that to my mate who has several which he has rebuilt and rides anywhere.. Bikie?? Hell yes and is usually armed and has been known to use a shotgun on another Bikie for trying to trash his Harley… Here the posers own large 4x4’s and never take them off a sealed road.. I’m the first to admit that given the additional cash, I’ll go and buy a Harley because I have always wanted to own one, I’ll go and but a 1969 Corvette because I love corvettes and have had several in the past. I’ll go and but a Huey gun ship (without the armament unfortunately) because I have a love affair with them after they saved my arse more times than I can remember and have flown them often…..  What I will never do is to turn my back on some one who is a good person or who I believe to be a good person no matter what their financial circumstances…. However I must confess some of the attitudes here are just further proof as to why I am no longer bothering to mix  with most of the locals and just stay with the very few who are friends..

Like anything else in society I think that many lifestyle groups look at definatly a social clique. Some people make harsh judements about people because of the income or lack there of, or if they have a care or what kind of car they have. I think as indiviatuls we have todecide if we want to be part of "socially" elitte groups. I personally think that doing so hinders the posibility of interacting with some very stong people who may be assets to our community.

My guess an answer to that question would always be both. One might orientate to a particular direction and then one weighs up the options from there. Looks, character, money, availability, etc. Not necessarrily in that order.

Not wishing to via off into a thread about bikes IronBear but an equivalent size Japanese bike will be over the state line before a Harley gets to the city limits. Harleys are bling you cruise on. Kawasakis, Yamahas etc. you have to ride.

I know many who would disagree. Including myself. I consider harleys very much bikes to be riden and they are riden fast and hard my many people. They are also seen as art and at times classics to many. Where other motorcycles are simply that I can not count how many times I have heard " that is not a bike that is a toy  or that is not a bike that is a rice burner" in reference to anything but Harleys.

Status: offline 		I was reading in a bike magazine that it's not recommended for middleaged men whose kids have grown up and are returning to bikes after years of driving the family car, not to buy a large Japanese bike because their reflexes are too slow and they are in a category of rising fatal statistics due to bike accidents. Harleys were recommended for this group of aspirational returnees to two wheeled machines!

Unfortunately, I'm in that group

Status: offline 		I have a friend (yep I have lots of friends some socially nice and some you never want to take home to meet mother) however thius mate rides a Ducatti 900 and used to professionally race bikes... The Harley in his opinion is a piece of agrigcultural machinery.. Now being realistic, I'd want to doa Sunday ride on the harley and use a 4x4 for daily running about if i wsn't fireingup the corvette (which my local police have stated that if they see me with a 'vet with light bars on top they willo not believe I'm not using it as a chase machine... hmmmm  looks like I attend Munches in the Huey)...

Ok cliques are always going to be there and admittedly they are the bane of my public life here outside the select group of friends i socialise with in the lifestyle.. I'm apparently on the outer because I publuically identify as Gorean and I informed face to face a Guy who has been aboiut forever, known as a dirty and unsafe player especiallyt with needle play and who disrespects collars and Dommees, that should he lay a hand on any girl in ,my house collar ort my collar or disrespect Lady Neets he would be requiring dental surgery and if he sent his thugs afrer me their bodies would be delivered tohim for disposal.... Guess he saw I was serious and that I dont screw about when it comes to my people. However I am apparently persona non gratis with a largish percentage of the still fragmenting scene. The funny thing is more and more of his original groups are wanting to meet the most evil grizzly in Australia and seem to enjoy many other meetings and conversations too....

Elite cliques/groups? I am a member of a number of them but none are lifestyle.....

Status: offline 		Right now, I am supporting both myself and my girl. However, I know for a fact that once she finishes school, she will make more money than I could in a lifetime. I don't think less of myself for it, nor do I think more of her because of it. As long as both are happy, money really does not matter all that much.

Status: offline 		Ok, I gotta jump in here with my two cents worth! Am I understanding  the question right? We as a community ,judge some one on income?  WTF ! The value of some one who is able to fulfill anothers needs and to be a contributing member to the enrichment of a scocial  group based on fufillment of emotional needs  honestly being judged as to their value on  their ability  to "make ends meet" !!! Jeezus! I dont know whats the funniest . the absurtity of the length of this thread  from such a question, or the way it has drifted. I think  that ANY adult working in todays world, can damn well understand  the struggle of bills! LOL, I dont think it needs to be going further myself.

Status: offline 		I don't know about the others, but my post stated that Master didn't WANT to work.  He felt that, since I was his slave, my money was his money.  Uh, not so much...not when I have two kids to support.  And not when he refused to even look for a job.

Status: offline 		Master and i are on a very tight budget, He was injured years ago while making a run to Pittsburgh with a patient.. The Squad Master was in was T-Boned by a drunk driver and He was thrown around and ended up with some serious injuries..So many years later we strugle through some months to make ends meet but in the end as long as the kids have what they need (food,clothing, ect) and the bills are paid what does it matter..Granted there are things we would love to be able to do but but with limited finances its not always possible.. We have decided after i go Home for a visit that i will be looking for a job as our youngest will be going to school in the fall..Though i won't be able to go full time because then Master and the kids would loose some of their benifits and well we can't afford that and still pay for meds( Master is diabetic and has to have pain meds, and 2 of our youngest have ADHD and need meds to get through the school day..)

So having extra money is nice but isnt a standarded by which i came to be with Master.. Love,Honesty, Comitment,Respect,Devotion, a sence of humor and acceptance that me and my kids are far from perfect were things that drew me to Master...

Status: offline 		It always depends more on character.. money is liquid, sometimes you have it, sometimes you have a drought. And who's to say the charming broke man won't someday make something of himself? Or what of the rich man who loses everything? Do these things affect their 'trueness' in the lifestyle? No.. it just affects what the bank statement says at the end of the year.

Doms who make a very good living, but when it comes to making reservations for events or hotels leave all that for the sub who also pays for said events and hotels. Doms who make a very good living, but while living with their sub don't pay a cent toward the maintenance, upkeep, food bill, or anything of the like, and the sub doesn't want to rock the boat by bringing up such an ugly topic as money. (I'm not the sub in question, btw.)

I have a good job and I don't require a Dom to take care of me or to be a high income earner, but things should be divided in some way. One, either Dom or sub, should not be paying for everything, unless of course, that was agreed upon in advance. I would not expect a free ride from a Dom at all. I don't even know, at this point, if I could give up my job if I had a Dom and he asked me to. I've always worked and paid my way. I don't mind splitting expenses at all. I just take exception to people, be they Dom or sub, who decide that they are going to keep all their money for themselves, and not contribute in any way.

Well, just my two cents ...um...and a bit of a rant. My apologies. The sub in question is a friend of mine and it's driving me nuts.

Status: offline 		Your friend needs to have a talk with her dom.  She will have to be prepared, however, and realize that this is a taboo topic for some.  I don't think she should be paying, but after I said as much to my dom...well, let's just say he is now my former dom.  I still think I did the right thing.

IF she is doing it perhaps she doesn't have an issue with it.
IF your the one with the issue then perhaps there is a time where as her friend you need to simply trust her judgement and be there for her and not toss accusations or insults her Owners way. After all I assume she is a an adult who can legally make decissions about her finances.

I should just probably tell her to stop telling me about it and tell him instead. If she can't say it to him, then stop saying it to me. I should have just written myself an email 'cause now that I see it in writing, the answer is clear.

I believe one of Homer Simpson's "D'OH" smack in the forehead thingies ought to work for me.

Um, btw, she can't walk. It's her house.

Anyway, like I said, I'll just have that little talk with her, tell her what I just wrote about the don't tell me, tell him....and away I go.
