Jeptha and Pompeii, I agree that there tend to be more real/genuine men than women here, since there are a lot of scammers to sift through who pretend to be women, but it's rare for them to pretend to be men. I live in an area with lots of people who are into kink, so it's relatively easy to meet/talk with local people, but determining compatibility takes more effort. I think a lot of guys are picky, and most have other places besides CM where they find potential dates/playpartners/etc. If all I wanted was a casual playpartner or fuckbuddy, that would be easy, but I don't particularly feel drawn to that. Men definitely tend to be more willing to contact women than the other way around, and the couple of times I have contacted a man first, I've had a 100% response rate, mostly positive. I'm pretty sure that isn't the case for most men, even if they write polite and well-thought-out e-mails.
Chicagobaby, I'm also looking for a LTR with love, caring, mutual interests, and all that. I found my last boyfriend/Dom online (though at a different site). I've also gone on dates with people I've met through other venues, but I think CM has a lot of real, local, interesting people, and I use it to initially meet and screen them. I don't try to establish a relationship online, and I really want someone who's local. I want someone I can go on dates with, do BDSM play with, cuddle up with, and all that good stuff. Talking online or over the phone is fine, but not enough by itself.
