This is really quite bizarre... none of the links work for me. The second one tells me the file is irreparably damaged, and as for the third one, Acrobat can't decrypt the URL from the Washington Times. I'm starting to feel a tad para. Will hunt for it from other sources.

THIS JUST IN -

A CNN reporter recently spotted several of these radical anti-government, anti-CNN right wingers!

Details at five...

I guess I might be a Terrorist.

More fascist than terrorist....these folks.  They could always move south of the border if they don't like America.[;)]

Here's another of your "fascists" (apparently fascists are now people who support freedom and the Constitution):

Mike Smart, a 51-year-old oil field worker from West Texas, held up a white handwritten sign that said, "I'll keep my freedom, my $ and my guns. You keep the change."

As i would never dare try to put words in Your mouth....it is much appreciated if You show me the same consideration.
Fascists are people that let fear, and certain sorts of hatred misguide them into seeing darkness where there isn't any...well ...i suppose they see darkness, and i find that to be the root of the problem for MANY of these people.   Whether they are honest enough to admit it, or not.
---------
eta:  As i said in the Secede thread that was so swiftly pulled....."Surpise!Surprise!Surprise!"   And yet, not a surprise at all.  We live in a country where the thought of President Obama leading is so disgusting to people, that people who once thought of themselves as patriots would rather leave than call him "Mr.President".  For a lot of these people, it's not about taxes, guns, or the Constitution....it's the fact that a man they consider less than human on some level is the leader of our nation.

So those who disagree with you are fascists and racists.

Care to throw anything else on the pile while you're at it? [sm=biggrin.gif]

Not at all....and if you have any other utterly baseless and false thing you care to say to me....you can always feel free to Cmail.  In case you have forgotten, i get along fine with people on either side of the middle....but i also know when to call a spade a spade.   And trust me...alot of these good ol' boys now screaming "Secede" have  tossed the term around a few times too.  Btw...i agree with alot of these folks as far as the 2nd amendment goes, and i want the government to decrease spending, and i question many parts of the President's stimulus bill.  Perhaps you shouldn't assume you know how i lean when it comes to issues.

Which people are saying they would rather leave, because I have not heard anyone say that. I remember when Barbra was going to move if Bush got elected, and there were a few other celebrities who said the same thing. But I haven't heard anyone say that about Obama. Now I thought it was real stupid when Barbra said it, and I didn't think for a minute that she really meant it

Do you think she is a fascist for her comments?

Perry repeated his running theme that Texas' economy is in relatively good shape compared with other states and with the "federal budget mess." Many in the crowd held signs deriding President Barack Obama and the $786 billion federal economic stimulus package.
Later, answering news reporters' questions, Perry suggested Texans might at some point get so fed up they would want to secede from the union, though he said he sees no reason why Texas should do that.
"There's a lot of different scenarios," Perry said. "We've got a great union. There's absolutely no reason to dissolve it. But if Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, you know, who knows what might come out of that. But Texas is a very unique place, and we're a pretty independent lot to boot."
i suppose you mean Madame Streisand???  Fascism has nothing to do with secession...or a lack of "sticktoitiveness"....and if Barbra had left the country simply because she didn't like the President, i would have criticized her decision as well.  i don't do hypocrite very well....

No, Ironi, that is the tool of any branch of authoritarian thought there is.  Lots more flavors than just fascism.

I thought secession was tried once allready, didn't work out so well...

FR

i've been thinking about this report and am beginning to wonder if there is a danger we haven't recognised here. Not with the report per se, or even anything to do with its subject matter, but with how it is beginning to be interpreted. One poster over in off topic called it "It is a slap at veterans".....which it clearly isn't. However, if that perception becomes dominant....then that is the problem.

Sanity referred to it earlier as 'Nixonian'. i think my worry is that it'll become 'McCarthy-like'. Looking for Reds under the Beds was foolish, but if we start looking for pissed off vets under our...er....verandas, then that will be just as foolish.

It would be up to the Supreme Court, and secession should be fully Constitutional. If a state can ratify it can UN ratify. Where is the law or the amendment that says states cannot?

Lincoln took away a lot of liberties in order to wage the kind of war he did, and Bush was nothing compared to Lincoln. Things have changed since then.

The rule of law would very likely be more strictly adhered to this time around.

Well that would be a debate for a whole new thread....we could possibly block out a weekend for that one.

Yep.

What's kind of a hoot is that this paper was written during the Bush administration.

And prior fans of DHS, illegal wiretapping, et al would always say is "You don't have to worry about anything if you have nothing to hide."

Which is always the credo of the fascists. What matters much more, is what...govt. has to hide.
