Sanity -> RE: Homeland Security Warns Of Rightwing Radicals (4/15/2009 8:42:45 PM)

The DHS report obviously wasn't written during the Bush administration because it makes several references to "President Obama" and the "recent historic election".

I could post links to all kinds of video footage of people on the left acting like rabid racist fools, or whatever. But all a flame war would do is make us both look stupid, and bring the ire of the moderator down on us.

So instead I'll just ask, what's your point.

Stupidity is not restricted to any one side....neither side has cornered the market on genius either.

Sanity -> RE: Homeland Security Warns Of Rightwing Radicals (4/16/2009 7:25:04 AM)

Amen to that, my brother.

slvemike4u -> RE: Homeland Security Warns Of Rightwing Radicals (4/16/2009 7:55:18 AM)

There is a degree of irony present with that post sanity. In a fora chock full of partisan sentiment...you are particularly partisan. Now on the other hand I post straight down the middle, never choosing along party lines.[8|]

I guess DHS had it right after all.

Fascists are people that let fear, and certain sorts of hatred misguide them into seeing darkness where there isn't any...well ...i suppose they see darkness, and i find that to be the root of the problem for MANY of these people.   Whether they are honest enough to admit it, or not.
---------
eta:  As i said in the Secede thread that was so swiftly pulled....."Surpise!Surprise!Surprise!"   And yet, not a surprise at all.  We live in a country where the thought of President Obama leading is so disgusting to people, that people who once thought of themselves as patriots would rather leave than call him "Mr.President".  For a lot of these people, it's not about taxes, guns, or the Constitution....it's the fact that a man they consider less than human on some level is the leader of our nation.

A good portion of what you wrote is bullshit. It's not because he's black. It's because he's a democrat. The same, exact same sentiment existed on the other side 4 years ago and Bush isn't black. There is, for some reason, an undiluted need to make this a racist issue. It's not. Democrats and Republicans have divided this country exactly as they wanted to. The problem is, they've generated too much hate in their own ranks for the other side, enough hate to where it is barely controllable.

Bush is not my president. How many have that bumpersticker or have seen it?

Yeah, it's race alright.

SirMike929 -> RE: Homeland Security Warns Of Rightwing Radicals (6/10/2009 5:54:43 PM)

tea parties -- millions of these right wing radicals took to the streets demanding liberty and the pursuit of happiness provided by the constitution. They did this without the "out of control" riots that the liberals utilize to force their ideas on others. These tea party right wing radicals (many of whom served this country honorably in the armed services) demanded lower taxes, cutting federal government spending w/o cutting DEFENSE, protection for successful people that increased their wealth by working 80 hrs. per week, the right to bear arms and protect themselves, the right to free speech (anti-"the fairness doctrine"), interrogation of terrorists that are planning to KILL US ALL, the government stop giving handouts to inefficient companies in order to socialize industries, the right to choose our own health care. Sound like a bunch of terrorists to me!

So the guy was a veteran?

Or was he just opposed to high taxes.

MarsBonfire -> RE: Homeland Security Warns Of Rightwing Radicals (6/10/2009 6:50:04 PM)

Let's see... last week it was a right wing terrorist who shot a Doctor dead after a long history of harassing him, and the people who worked at his clinic... where he performed perfectly legal abortions.

Today, we have a right wing terrorist with connections to a white supremicist group, who walked into the D.C. Holocaust Museum, and killed at least one security gaurd, and wounding several others....

Yeah, I'd say the GOP nutcases are starting to worm their way out of the walls...

Sanity -> RE: Homeland Security Warns Of Rightwing Radicals (6/10/2009 6:52:38 PM)

Obama's dropping the ball. Bush stopped all these terrorists, what the fuck. And I'm sure this latest guy was on Obama's enemies list - he's allegedly from Idaho.

Nowhere in that article did it say that guy was a terrorist...

Come to think of it, I don't think anybody was a terrorist during the Bush administration. Wasn't all that stuff all the president's fault back then...  weren't you claiming that it was the government carry all of that out?

That is the oddest way to spell "you caught me, I apologize." I've ever seen.

Okay, you caught me. I didn't make it clear enough for some of the less observant among us that I was being totally sarcastic.

[Personal biased stupid opinion here]

Actually I am surprised that it has taken anyone this long in the government to BEGIN to consider the implications of religious right wing has the probable risks that it has.

And yes I viewed Bush Jr as a political risk. From my view on-one could do anything to real him back in because of the control "he" sought.

Really?  Did their report have anything about American converts to Islam murdering soldiers on a whim of opportunity?  Or did they miss that one?  A far-right nutcase will explode.  That's about tough as predicting gas prices will go back up.   Anybody remember Buford Furrow?

MarsBonfire -> RE: Homeland Security Warns Of Rightwing Radicals (6/11/2009 5:16:15 AM)

Ah. "Terrorisim" is only committed by people who are of arab decent?

So, by definition, the folks from the radical anti-abortion groups who murder Doctors, and nutcase anti-semetic white power assholes who shoot up museums cannot be catagorized as such?

How utterly self serving of the right.

JennieSlave -> RE: Homeland Security Warns Of Rightwing Radicals (6/11/2009 5:34:10 AM)

Terrorism *by definition* is not the same as a "nut case".  Terrorism is an act of war designed to bring about the downfall of a government.  Anti-Abortion people are not doing that, and the left-wing nutcase who shot up the holocaust memorial was not trying to do that.
