kit, much as we disagree I agree on this one. You don't want an Israeli or US passport in some parts of the world. It makes you a target. From what I've heard a Canadian passport is much better. They don't bother anyone, their money is pretty good and they don't generally go on vacation for the purpose of assassination. In fact they have schools to teach US citizens how to act like Canadians, and at least fool the locals.
I wish we could find some common ground here, like you could admit that they have done some really nasty shit, and I won't blame their populace, nor the Jews still in diaspora all over the world. If you could prove to me that the Protocols are less valid than say the book of Revelations somehow, but how could you ? One is older, that is all. I find truth in both.
Perhaps one day we will have a debate about this, but not today. This is not our thread.
But yes, it is a damn shame. We used to be welcome just about anywhere, but no more. All I can say is we got four years to get someone in the big chair that will start cleaning this mess up. So instead of waiting for the dog and pony show of 2012, maybe we should be talking about it now.
Maybe the Jews should be talking about it as well. Elect a PM who says "Fukit, let them in". There really aren't that many of them, what could they do ? The US has absorbed alot of refugees over the years and while we do have some big problems, they were not the cause.
Even illegal immigrant can't take our jobs, not those of my sister or me, nor could they affect the jobs of my Parents, Uncles and Aunts before most of them retired. Why ? Because like Jews, we took the time to learn something. They are successful for the most part, and envy leads to jealousy, which has resulted in pogroms across the world.
I think that it is possible that the printed word has failed us. I get from you that they can do no wrong, but did you really say that ? You get from me that they can do no right, but I never said that. They turned that body of sand into a significant nation, relatively lush, not quite a paradise but it was a pretty good shot. If it was left to the Palestinians we would be talking about a few goat farms and a couple of mosques.
I am about [] this far from mailing you kit, but it's OK out here. To give you an idea of how I am, let me note some of the story of my friend Jack. After so much bitching he quit drinking for 2½ years. He started again. Now people will bitch about Jack, because he misses appointments and the like. He pisses his olady off from time to time. He even pisses me off. However when people start bitching about him I find myself in a position to defend, even if I am pissed at him at the time. Whatever he did lately, blew someone off or fucked something up, that doesn't change the fact that he practically built the house the family used to live in, and now provides income in the form of rent for the family. There is good and bad in everyone, and to see both sides means you must really see both sides. That might sound like talking in circles, but in a way it makes sense. If you want to know the whole truth, the first step is to be objective.
Israel is far from perfect, we are far from perfect, Iran is far from perfect. The list goes on of course. To recognize the traits of these imperfections is not bigotry, nor even racist, it is simply a fact of life, and it is ignorant to ignore facts. Certain religions, races, tribes, what have you, have certain tenets and beliefs by which they live. That is a fact.
It is no reason for hate, which is sometimes found in the eye of the beholder, not the supposed hater. Understand the I have lived in a world full of imperfect people for a long time. Even my buddy Jack, consider these words - "YOU NASTY LOWDOWN SON OF A BITCH, YOU FUCKED AROUND ON YOUR OLADY AND GAVE HER A DISEASE WHICH PROBABLY CAUSED HER TWO ECOPTIC PREGNANCIES, KILLING HER ABILITY TO HAVE MORE KIDS. " And then I will head for the fridge and ask him "Ready for another beer ?".
I have also done some nasty things, so if I am to hate based on actions, I would have to hate myself as well. It simply is not worth the mental energy. But I savor the truth, and not only will I take it unsweetened, that is how I dish it out. Some read that as hate, but it is not, I assure you.
