Come to think about it, I don't think I've ever asked a question in an introductory email unless it was something very specific to their profile, and never in a BDSM or sexual context. I don't ever broach the BDSM/sex subject until the person i'm talking to does actually, we both know why we're talking to each other at first, my goal is to figure out if there is more commonality than her being a famale dominant and me being a male submissive.

I have no problem with people I know, or with whom I've established some type of online rapport, asking for restaurant, hotel, or nightclub recommendations. I do the same thing myself, but I always know the person or have communicated with them online previously. What I am not thrilled with are strangers who message out of the blue requesting these recommendations, then immediately follow up with an invitation for some type of in-person get-together when they are in town.
