Thank you. That helps a lot.

I have much more experience in the submissive roles. But for some strange reason I've been meeting submissive women who've been asking me to play with them and take on a more dominant role. Maybe this would be considered "bottoming from the top."

The answer ask them, not us still stands, because each woman is different, and we, can't speak for any individual other woman about what she would like.

From that statement I'd say you are still viewing it as a submissive action.

If I either tied her down or simply pinned her down, forced her legs open and took what enjoyment I wanted oraly.... does that sound in ANY way submissive to you? does that sound in any way to be bottoming to her?

Believe Me if a girl thought oral was a submissive act beforehand she'd have a road to Damascus moment if I happen to be in the mood to go down on her! I don't switch, I am not submissive and I don't bottom to anyone.

Get over thinking of the act as being submissive, it is only submissive if done in a submissive manner... which, from the sounds of it is the mindset you are used to, your primary experience of the act in question, hence why it seems to be your sticking point.

The "bottoming from the top" was a comment a Mistress had made to me when I had mentioned dominating a submissive I was interested in. She said that my wanting to dominate because that was what would please the submissive was itself a submissive act.

I understand what you are saying. I should center what I want over what would please her. Any submissive attitude is going to come across if the thought that my dominating is a submissive act.

It's like when I was studying acting. There is an energy that comes across when you immerse yourself in a role. Even if you just stand there, not moving, the character's energy comes across to the audience. The emotional energy will be there.

That would certainly be the case looking at this sort of thing from a Topping/bottoming angle. With Dominant/submissive I'd go further as IMO it comes from the core of who You ARE, not a role You play. If Dominant isn't part of that core then you will only ever Top.... But if it is just play and not a lifestyle then that is possibly enough.

i would think if she were in bondage or restrained in some way while You're doing it, You would definitely still be the Dominant.  Some women have hellish periods though, and might not want to "go there" at all.  If You do, don't only use dark-colored towels and so on but maybe even a spare shower curtain underneath them, in case it might soak through the towels.  Mine would and that shower curtain makes it a LOT less messy.

Yes, I think it will be more about topping. I don't know if it's at my core. Maybe that is something that comes with time. But I doubt that I will ever be strictly dominant even if I continue meeting more submissives who want me to dominate or top. It's just not within my nature.

I'm going to share this with some other submissive male friends who also are considering topping. We've discussed this issue and all of us feel that because we know how it feels to receive that we might be able to give because we are aware of the effect. Perhaps all bottoms go through this. I know that is the case with many of the Mistresses I've met. They've been bottoms and developed into tops. But men and women are different, so I don't know.

I was thinking of having her use a menstrual cup like the Diva cup or the Keeper. I can then have some menstrual shots. But I'm going to be sucking up any flow that's coming out, so I doubt that there will be much spillage.

After listening to RavenMuse's take on this, I think I understand things better. I do need to think of my needs. So if she complains, too bad. I want that life force from her body. I need it. I didn't realize how much I seem to have this vampire persona within me until I started this thread, but apparently it's something within me. It comes to me as a surprise but I guess we all grow and learn about our deeper needs.

I think that some people would be fine with it, others not at all. 
In a later post, you asked about the difference between Dominants and submissives doing it.  Well, as a switch, I can give you an opinion of my thoughts from either side of things.  If I'm in a Dominant situation and it's not a limit that is pre-negotiated and I desired it, I'd expect that desire to be catered to.  If I'm in a submissive situation, I would think it's upto the Dominant person if he wishes to partake of such things.  I don't have any personal aversion to the contemplation nor does it particularly turn me on.  I am annoyed by males who won't engage in sex during a woman's period.

As for the sex during menstruation. I raise my menstrual cup to you in a toast and take down a shot in agreement over the attitude of some men.

Sex during menstruation can be very unpleasant, most women bloat and the whole area gets overly sensitive in a bad way. Not to mention women often are gassy, for lack of a kinder term. On the other hand orgasms induce muscle spasms that help to clear the uterus faster and also produce endorphins which helps with cramps.

Supposedly women give off a stronger scent immediately before a period which attracts more partners, I'd say it is true. I wouldn't ingest that fluid though, any disease she may have would be transmissible.

I hate the mess but enjoy it because it helps relieve cramps.  When I was in  Domme mode, I played with a sub during it.  It looked like a crime scene.  I usually prefer in the shower.

I'm able to smell when a woman is about to be on her period. Usually about 2 days before and I notice it usually from the base of the neck on most women.

As for gas, I have no problem with that. As for disease, I'm regularly tested and so are my partners.

What does amaze me is that many of the women I ingest from become very excited about it. I don't quite understand this from the woman's perspective, but I know I really enjoy it.

That reminds me of when I first started having sex in college. I had sex with a girl on her period and it sprayed all over my sheets. Being domestically challenged at the time, I soaked the sheets in hot water. When I took my sheets home during break, my mother took a look at them and asked me in shock, "What happened?"

I completely disagree. In fact, that Mistress you mention sounds like a judgemental fool who has no idea what she is talking about.

That's not the point, he knows his girl and it is to bad if she complains, You're  purposing* I gather*  to force  this activity on someone who you don't know if it'll have adverse affects on and say to bad if she complains, and that's not the point. You need to know if they  can handle the activity, Personally if you don't take what I can and can't do into consideration and my periods were hellish and hurt and I was miserable and wanted to die, and then just forced yourself on me, you'd get one hell of a beat down before I showed you to the door.

Might I also add his girl has consented to him saying to bad don't like it do it anyway and it's the dynamic they have. You shouldn't try that on any random woman you want to play with though.
