LOL & it's not that I mind thrift, I find it admirable . . . . . Tho' I hear what you're saying about inappropriately cheap, such that they undermine their own attempts at connection . . . . . I just get so annoyed with those who think 'free markets' are great when they benefit, & then flop around & oppose 'capitalist' approaches when they have to pay what the market will bear . . . ... . & then get all annoyed, themselves, at the very idea that someone would 'make money' doing something . . . . . ROFLMAO at that -- we live in the land of profit, it's the state cult, the pursuit of money. Unless. You're a woman. Then. It's something different. I truly 'got' this lesson rearing ums, cuz that's where capitalism really has no solution -- there is no way to turn 'bearing & raising ums' into a profit center (with the result that birth rates are *plunging all over, wherever profit motive has become the local way of life) . . .. . & that really helped connect me with the many ways in which women's 'natural roles' are devalued in the capitalist system . ... . . & the hypocrisies around the 'adult entertainment industry' in that regard particularly get my dander up . . . .. . . The hostility that's unleashed at prostitutes, strippers, porn actors, phone sex workers, BDSM providers, & so on is just astonishing, especially when much of it comes from the putative consumers of those products & services . . . . . I hear less hostility directed at bomb makers, oil companies, pesticide producers & so on than I do sex workers, & that is just so completely back-assward, such an inverted sense of values, that my inner Bill Hicks takes over & I become an obnoxious ass . . . .. I'm just less & less willing to sit by, especially some place like this, & keep my mouth shut . . . . . * A good thing for the planet, by-the-by . . .. quote:
ORIGINAL: Venatrix "Free marketeers." What a great euphemism for "cheap." I'm no fan of tribute dommes, but some of the submissive men I've met can pinch a penny so hard that you can hear Abe Lincoln screaming from his grave.
