Yeah, I admit that my pics were taken while we were in the midst of packing up the house to move. You can see boxes, linens and a computer monitor in the background.

There's a woman who has a pic that was taken from where she works, which just happens to be my gym. In the background, it's only got the first letter of the gym name, but it's pretty much unmistakable if you've ever seen their logo.

Another excellent observation from Gypzyqueen.  Glad I'm not the only one wondering about the context in some of the photos I've seen.  Dirty laundry, unkempt rooms and  general untidiness are one thing, but the general cluelessness to let these things show up in the background, now that's something else.  If you're trying to make a favorable first impression, think about the overall ambience!

The hotel/motel room is the one that gets Me the most in addition to all the others mentioned here and of course the ones with pics of people who probably don't know they are in a pic on a site like this.

I would then in that case ask if hes doing adult ed, or has friends in high school. Or maybe he likes reading them or they have special memories for him, so he keeps them.  I'm 27 and if you had come over or hung out with me , or maybe if the camera was out while my books were out, you would of seen me in the last year carrying several high school topic books, because I am finishing high school through the adult ed, and I am missing credits, or was in government history, economics, science life science, english and math.  I also have math books for kindergarteners and first graders lying about, and some might raise an eyebrow about that, but who cares. I have them because, A for one they amuse me to have and use and it fits in the realm of regression learning, and two my basic math skills really are so poor I need books for little kids.

definitely agree to ppl posting pics of themselves with a friend or two..or three and having it as a profile pic..

I used to refuse to give pictures to people until I had talked to them a bit and knew them a bit, and that was for one of two reasons, one I didn't want my picture to be floating out there in any old dick tom or harry's hands I wanted to know who had them, and I wanted them to get to know me first and not my image, but then I changed my mind and was like fuck it. If you're the type to judge people on image alone before mind heart body soul and personality, you're not someone I want to hang around with anyway. I chose I felt were flattering pictures, and posted them publically. It keeps away the types I mentioned before.

I don't mean this rude because goodness knows I have chubby cheeks myself.  There is a doms profile where he states how great he wants his sub/slave to look, how thin, how pleasing she should be to him always..and in his pic he is hardly shaved, with a double chin, and basically looking like a bum.  I am sure the women were just swarming to get near him.

I have seen all the other things also, I am not much into over posed pics, though I don't mind where it seems they made an effort to look nice, or have a thoughtful background.  I admit I like a few candid photos mixed in because it tells me a bit more about the person.  Even though my looking days are long over, I still like to take a peeper now and then.

Or they have a picture where an X is still in the picture but her face is blurred out, or they've cut the X out all except the arm still around his shoulders, or the guys with  camera's in the mirror and it's got a huge mirror flash or they look like they're posing with a javalon in their hand because one arm is out way in front aiming the camera at themselves. Most camera's have a time on them, don't be so fricken lazy or ignorant of the featurs on your camera, and take the time to set up a timer shot.

Cat, I'm curious about that last comment.  Maybe you, and those who feel the same, could help to answer Me on it.

I try to get to at least two or three major events a year, such as SELF or DomCon.  To provide information for those who might not know, these are both three day events, held in hotels.  Classes are held during the day, with play being held in the evening.  Photography is, for the sake of privacy for attendees, restricted in the main areas.  This leaves very few options other than the actual hotel room, for those wishing pictures in certain costumes, during the event.

Since some do have a distaste for pictures taken within a hotel room, what would you suggest?

(The question isn't really being asked for Myself, since I dress for most events and have ample opportunities for photos.  I'm asking more for those who don't have such opportunities.)

@CatdeMedici, that's why I'm amazed at how many people don't seem to care how often and how revealingly they are photographed.  Once those pics are on someone's computer, who the hell knows where they will end up?
Passed around like an STD, most likely....

I also read backgrownds, but I do allow for the chance tha they may not be in their own home, expecially when a males surrounding's seem feminine etc.

I also have pictures that were taken candidly and the backgrownds aren't optimal but it's a damned good picture of me.

I have had a few questions asked about the spurs hanging on my wall in my photo, and I answer I have never used them on a sub, just my horse (but maybe I should!)

My Dear Lady P, I hardly think that Your pics at events would even remotely match the "on road trucker" pics that I refer to, naked, sprawled across a half made bed and the beer bottle on the bedside stand.

Cat, you'd be surprised how quickly I can destroy a hotel room in the matter of an hour.  When the males in My life talk about how much stuff comes with Me to a three day event, they aren't kidding.  Regular clothes, play clothes, bags of toys, accessories, make-up, shoes, stuff for hair, nails.........  You get the picture.

The next time I'm up your way, I'll have to give you some exposure to what it's like to travel with Lady Pact.  LOL.

I'm really getting the sense now that women might look for 'feminine signs' in the backgrounds of pics of purportedly single men.  I'll make damn sure there's no fruit or vegetables in the backgrounds of any future photos I do of myself.


Hahaha....Bowls of fruit and frilly curtains are a no-no for men.

Bummer, only 2 out of 3, though I might have hiking boots somewhere, will a pair of inline skates suffice? And not to worry about being too neat, LOL, I am a disaster area, you will have to jump over boxes and stuff.... I'm still not completely unpacked but I only moved into the house about 2 years ago... A woman does need some time, and you know, whenever I get to the boxes in the garage it's always the "WOW, I didn't know I had this!" experience!
