VeryMercurial -> RE: Are BDSMers better at size acceptance? (5/20/2009 9:27:27 PM)

I have read many fat threads on Collarme, but this one indeed takes the cake.
A delicious chocolate cake, filled with calories.

This thread is funny and sad, with summer approaching I eagerly await many more
fat threads.

FullfigRIMAAM1 -> RE: Are BDSMers better at size acceptance? (5/20/2009 9:41:45 PM)

Will you be sharing a piece of that delicious chocolate cake?   Throw some strawberries on mine please.

With all of the potentially and really sad things happening in the world, you have got to keep perspective, and not let a fat thread affect you that way.   It's conversation, and when it's no longer fun, you step away from the computer. [;)]   M

breatheasone -> RE: Are BDSMers better at size acceptance? (5/20/2009 9:46:17 PM)

Choclate Cake??? No one told me about the cake....WTF guys?? Holding out?[&:]
EDITED to add: i'd be better at accepting your size if you give me cake....(just wanted to kinda sorta stay on topic LOL)[:D]

VeryMercurial -> RE: Are BDSMers better at size acceptance? (5/20/2009 10:16:05 PM)

Strawberries sound delicious.
Oh, this thread is not bothering ME, in the least.
I think after almost 20 pages, it is some of these posters that need to step away from the computer.

You can tell by reading it, those that are bothered, they are the one's that seem sad.
One particular thing I find sad, is those that think they can change others opinions/and or
create fairness or fat acceptance if they just keep screaming loudly.
Everyone has their preferences in life: some prefer short people, some prefer tall people, some prefer thin people, some prefer heavier people, some prefer blondes, some prefer brunettes, some prefer younger people, some prefer more mature people, the list is endless.
Everyone has a preference that they desire, whether they admit it or not.

I think the majority of the posters that make cruel or caustic comments do it on purpose to upset people, and it works every single time.

Settle down, settle down!   We're not holding out, we're going to share the chocolate cake.   Glad to know your affection comes fairly cheap, in contrast to all the generosity threads around. [:D]   M

This thread has had me in hysterics!!

Noone HAS to accept anything. I don't have to accept people with acne, i don't have to accept skinny people, i don't have to accept people with halitosis. I can stay the hell away from them if i won't accept them.
Same goes if people can't accept me, stay the hell away.

I just wish people could be more honest and not hide behind reasons for not accepting something. If you don't like obese people, can't accept obesity because you find it unappealing say that. Don't hide behind a concern for obese peoples health, tell it how it is!!

Me personally i cannot understand people who choose to risk their health by being obese and over eating but i accept it is their CHOICE.
Those who are obese for medical reasons or are just built that way, because some peole are i accept.
Plain and simple. I don't have to though and that is my main point.

You who have posted on this thread and ranted about your choice to be fat, i can't help being fat, people should accept i'm fat wtf? I have seen some of you rant about other peoples choices and how you don't have to accept them, so why should others accept your being obese?

Just another pot, kettle, black thread.

Nicely said.  :-)  I was starting to get scared after reading the page before this one.  I thought someone was going to start executing anyone who didn't agree with them.  Some people get sooo worked up that others don't think what they do.  Its just silly.

For my part I don't really care if I'm liked here. None of you know me from Adam's house cat.. so in the end it's pointless. What gets me going is treating people like they are second class for any reason. People are people and there is no good reason for kicking a person just for X, Y or Z. There are plenty of things about people that I don't care for or like.. it does not mean that I will insult them to lift up my point of view.

I don't make this argument just here. In my area of the country there are people who use race, sexuality even faith as a battering ram against people and I stand up against that as well. Pot calling the kettle black, maybe for some.. but there is also alot of painting people with a broad brush.

YourhandMyAss -> RE: Are BDSMers better at size acceptance? (5/21/2009 8:35:21 AM)

People don't usually give a rats ass about preferances, I know I don't, it's when you have to follow up your preferance with hateful things, and attacks against those you don't like, or the flimsy argument that you're only saying fatty behemoths as big as a house need to loose weight because I care about their health and the affect they have on america.

Have preferences, Say I don't date fat people,.  People here have not been polite about their preferances, they've chosen to use terms like big as a house, and bohemoth, and other un nessesary terms.

I don't understand why people get so emotional about preferences.  People like what they like.  To use the example that keeps coming up...  I exercise a lot, and I'm attracted to lean muscles on women.  I think its rude when people throw insults when saying they're not into some one (Like, You're a fat cow, screw off), but I also think its rude for someone to be severely offended when someone politely lets them know that the attraction isn't there.

JaDaMaGi -> RE: Are BDSMers better at size acceptance? (5/21/2009 8:52:22 AM)

Ya, thats just plain unnecessary.  There's no need to be rude about it.

Being fat is kind of like being an asshole. The theory on how to be thin/nice is well understood, however for some of us putting that into practice isn't the easiest of things.

Ah yes.

I have had to face the fact that I am by definition, obese.  5 years ago I had one of my eyes bug out and while I had blood test after blood test for thyroid disease, the only thing I found out was that something wasn't right but no doctor actually did a throid scan to pinpoint what was wrong.  I had an eye operation to treat the result but have never learned the cause.

I eat less and exercise more!!  After all, that's all that is required to be slim and beautiful, right?  So why can I stick to diet and exercise for 6 weeks and have nothing to show for it?  Obviously, by the sounds of this and most fat threads, I have a personality flaw, something terrible that I am not admitting because if I were dieting and exercising I would simply have to be lean.  But I'm not lean.

7 years ago I could eat a normal diet and a moderate amount of exercise and wore a size 2.  Now my jeans are size 11 and I want to crawl into a hole and bury myself.  I have learned from the looks I get on the street that I am hideous, awful and a waste of oxygen.  I know how it feels to be hated for something I do not know how to fix.

Now, as far as being an asshole, well in my experience most assholes don't recognize it as being something undesireable and I have yet to see a program advertised on late-night tv about how to less an asshat in just 6 short weeks.......

LaTigresse -> RE: Are BDSMers better at size acceptance? (5/21/2009 11:13:55 AM)

I hope to god you are joking because you are a beautiful woman. Anyone that thinks a size 11 is obese (unless you are 3 feet tall) needs to adjust their size-o-metre.

Well i'd say all this depends on what an individual finds insulting. It seems to me that along side slave vs sub, limits vs no limits that fat threads are just a hot bed for raised temperatures and tempers. They always, always get out of hand.
Those who kick up the biggest storm about fat threads and that they are ecstatically happy being fat, always come across to me as though they are not only trying to convince others they are happy but themselves too.

Yes they have but how many threads do we see this kind of thing on? It always seems to me you can call people insane here, you can call them fake etc etc but don't dare call someone fat or claim that being fat is unhealthy !!

You know, I have to admit. When this thread started, I just kind of automatically assumed that when we were talking "acceptance" what we meant was "acceptance as a bed partner", not "acceptance as a human being".

Acceptance as a bed partner is a pretty elite judgment.  You cannot change people's individual sexual appetites and tastes, nor should you try.  The diversity of people's tastes is what makes our species strong in a NUMBER of ways, and freedom of choice is a necessary human right.

To me, acceptance is always about civility in public spaces.  No one can and no one SHOULD dictate another person's sexual choices.  On the other hand, it's also true that no one is entitled to condemn and abuse others based on their own perceived superiority, moral or physical.

What you see in this thread and many others is nothing more than the spoiled bleating of the socially privileged.  People who possess the socially correct body type assume the privilege of abusing others in this society from childhood until old age.  They do not like to be challenged about calling fat people names anymore than old-school American racists liked to be challenged about calling a black man "boy".

There's nothing sacred or special about these attitudes.  It's just the same old thing:  different = bad.  Wow.  We've never heard that before...
