Yes, but some of those old wizards and witches were alive then...and the "double double toil and trouble" song goes back to the early 1600s, Shakespeare's Macbeth, about an 11th century king (and witches)...

I think you're good.

By the light of a dimming candle (and her thousandth cup of tea), the librarian sits and ponders over the selection of books brought in from Charlie's wagon...

"Hmm, let's see... 'The Peacetime Use of Transfigurations'... 'Differences in the Respiratory System of the Ogre and the Yeti'... 'The Excretory System of Jabberwocks: With Illustrations'... 'The Dragon's Alchemy Codex'... 'The Treatise of One Hundred Secrets'... 'The Frontier's Cultural Edicts'... 'Battleaxes: A Tutorial To Peacetime Use'... 'The Wondrous Time Goddess' Servitors'...

Where, oh where did Charlie find these, anyways?"

Some fuckin' old man living in a god-benighted cave gave 'em to me.

Oops.  No offense, ma'am!

*picks up guitar and starts softly singing off key*

Oh, give me a home where the buffalo roam
And the deer and the antelope play
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word
And the skies are not cloudy all day

Steven and bear,

Your voices sound scratchy. I hope you aren't coming down with that Morse Code that's been going around.

[That Bilbo Baggins over in Hobbitville caught it, and all he could say was "I habe a bad code. Thag you very buch."]

*sends the dog out to sniff for medicinal herbs*

beargonewild -> RE: If Collarme Were An Old Western... (6/15/2009 9:38:21 AM)

*grinz*  nah, just didn't warm up the vocal cords enough!

hlen5 -> RE: If Collarme Were An Old Western... (6/15/2009 10:00:48 AM)

How about another song, Bear??

beargonewild -> RE: If Collarme Were An Old Western... (6/15/2009 11:37:34 AM)

*thinks for a sec....warms up vocal cords and begins singing in a voice that'll charm the spurs off any cowboy*

From this valley they say you are going
We will miss your bright eyes and sweet smile
For they say you are taking the sunshine
That has brightened our pathways awhile

Come and sit by my side, if you love me
Do not hasten to bid me adieu
Just remember the Red River Valley
And the cowboy who loved you so true

I've been thinking a long time, my darling
Of the sweet words you never would say
Now, alas, must my fond hopes all vanish
For they say you are gong away

Do you think of the valley you're leaving
O how lonely and how dreary it will be
And do you think of the kind hearts you're breaking
And the pain you are causing to me

They will bury me where you have wandered
Near the hills where the daffodils grow
When you're gone from the Red River Valley
For I can't live without you I know

The boarding house servant and kitchen maid runs over to the telegraph office to receive messages for the boarders.  She returns quickly to start the pot boiling for tonight's stew.

hlen5 -> RE: If Collarme Were An Old Western... (6/18/2009 2:00:44 AM)

I think the boarding house servant has been working too hard. Go out on the front porch of the bathhouse and have a glass of lemonade!!

DarkSteven -> RE: If Collarme Were An Old Western... (6/18/2009 5:50:40 AM)

WTF?  The submissives are in charge of the submissives now?  They're ALL going to be just lallygagging and drinking now!

How the hell am I supposed to fix this and start cracking the whip while I'm playing the pianner?

/plays Domly music, darkly/
