ORIGINAL: Truthiness I vote for both...everyone AND noone. As it stands right now...homosexuals CAN get married anywhere in the country. Nothing is stopping them from having a ceremony in the manner of their choosing. The thing is getting the government to recognize those marriages. Personally I'm all for justt getting the federal government out of marriage altogether as well. Many of the government given benefits for marriage are outdated or need reworked anyways...so just rework them so that marriage isn't a requirement for getting those benefits. Then let people do what they want, like it should be...and meanwhile us Christians don't have to deal with the government making laws in support of sin. Freedom for everyone without stepping on anyone's toes...seems like a win/win. Going to have to get the restaurants out of the the business of supporting sin also. Can't have that shellfish, or ham, god forbid you want a bacon cheeseburger, or shrimp alfredo... the mixing of meats and dairy. No sex with your girlfriend/wife while it's her time of the month either.. And get rid of those credit cards, home loans, car loans, etc... Borrowing and lending money is an abomination too. Unless one is a devout orthodox Jew who lives entirely by Levitican Law, I think one has NO right to even try to use it as an argument. God didn't come back later in the bible and say "Hm, wait, no, let's go through... this one is a good law, keep it, but ham... you can have that, it's fine. Oh, and can I borrow 5 scheckels?" In fact, if you want to get technical about it, all of the "old laws" were abolished in God's eyes and word and he delivered a new set of laws unto mankind. Oddly enough, homosexuality isn't considered a sin amongst them. As far as getting government out of marriage... I think the opposite. Get church out of it. Marriage is nothing but a contract for incorproation and has always been there as such, even in your precious bible. ESPECIALLY there. The selling and buying of daughters, dowries, etc. Wives and daughters as pure property to be bought, sold, killed at a whim. Your bible LOVES that kind of thing, the law doesn't so much...Or is that what you're going for? There's a reason that any Justice of the Peace, ships captain, mayor, whatever can perform a wedding. Doesn't require a minister. Although my commitment cerimony had two ministers that said my partner and I are married in the eyes of god. Those damned sinner baptist ministers. I tell ya.
