Has anyone read "The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty"? Its by Anne Rice writing as 'A.N. Roquelaure'. Its a BDSM version of the traditional Sleeping Beauty story. Absolutely fantastic. Besides the point - there are some really fantastic play scenes in there and the settings in which they take place are to die for.

Would really recommend that book

I read the whole series and I thought it was crap and a lot of the stuff was so unrealisstic that it ruined any sense of oooooooh that's erotic and just made me scoff and call bullshit..

Fantasy time ~ Forget your fiscal and other limitations, what would be your ideal setting/s for a BDSM play session?

The front room of a  glass house overlooking the ocean, empty except for a long oak table perfectly polished and adorned with leather cuffs attached and shiny  chains hanging from the ceiling above, lit by the dying rays of the setting sun and warmed by a blazing fire, Houses of The Holy playing on the stereo.

May i please use that house when you are done? I will bring Dazed and Confused to play on the stereo.
;)

I suppose it depends on your usual taste in books. I read a lot of fantasy books so I'm well used to suspending my disbelief regarding a lot of the more unrealistic stuff. It was still a very well written book that really captured my imagination. Im currently on the lookout for the next two.

I enjoyed the first novel best.

a pediatrician office..  (had to get a vaccine today at a PO, and it brought out "little girl" fantasies)
a deserted castle...

Delphinus, hellfires are stored and loaded horizontally, not nearly as phallic as one might hope. Unless I misunderstood, and it's a veiled reference to Col Kong in Dr Strangelove?

Actually, it's a longtime fantasy from a story written for me once and yes, it was horizontal.   :)

At the present time we are living miles from anywhere in the grounds of a big old Georgian house. We are restoring the house and have full access to all the rooms including the servants quarters (not much has been changed in this house for 200 years). We also have the stable yard, the hounds kennels and daisies milking parlor.
It has been like walking back in time (kind of spooky at night when the barn owl starts hooting) and its a great play space.

I have had dungeons and I have had other great play space but this has to beat everything I have ever experienced.

I am so wanting to visit you guys when next I visit the UK.....

MarsBonfire -> RE: Your Ideal Play Setting (5/29/2009 5:30:33 AM)

The front lawn of the White House... (THAT would prove to me that we are a free country again)

Seriously though, There's a lovely house I know of in Denver. It was originally a church, then a library and finally it was bought by a friend of mine who converted it into her private home. The huge main room is perfectly built for playspace, with hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, and indirect lighting which can be dimmed in various zones. Sadly, ever time I've been there, it was for a play party so the spcae was over crowded. But, I envy her and hers, the house when it's all to themselves.

~FR~
An antique wooden ship with a gallows. Loads of rope, canvas, muslin, sturdy posts, and a huge bronze steering ship's helm for fun and creative bondage and suspension play.

We'd be at sea, gently rocking in a bay at sunset...the reverberations from the implements hitting my skin, and the occasional expressions of pain, echoing throughout the deck. Then, after all the play is done... we go below-deck to a Captain's cabin with a huge window overlooking the water for after care and "sexy time".

DomImus -> RE: Your Ideal Play Setting (5/29/2009 3:43:37 PM)

The moon would be fun... possibilities for some serious breath play there.

BKSir -> RE: Your Ideal Play Setting (5/29/2009 3:52:04 PM)

Not really a fantasy... I think I've already hit all my fantasy spots... My favorite places though are still libraries and churches. [:D]

Yes, I'm going to hell... I learned to accept that fact long ago.

BitaTruble -> RE: Your Ideal Play Setting (5/29/2009 3:58:52 PM)

I love a lot of these answers. I'll add that mine is a space station sans gravity. Second choice is KoM's house although when I really stop and think about it, I'm usually blindfolded, so I guess it doesn't really matter. I'll take some mood music though.. unless he makes me wear ear plugs.

::the depraved one .. er.. deprived, I meant deprived::
