Status: offline 		I'm having a bit of debate with myself about this whole case. She got pregnant to avoid the death penalty which she has managed to do. She will now serve a life sentence, possibly in the UK. Seems pretty unfair to me to be honest. Should she not be executed after the babies born or at least serve out her sentence in the country she was caught where the prisons are a lot harsher?

Possibly but how long is sperm feasible for after ejaculation? Would they have had been able to do the process in time?

i know it can fertilize an egg as long as 72 hours after sex. I do not know if it makes a difference if it is outside the body.

She prolly either screwed a guard or bribed one somehow into donating to the cause, that way she could use it while it was still "fresh"

Status: offline 		Actually, no, it is not a solution to anything at all, but many people believe it's a solution because it makes them feel good. They are wrong, however, and if they bothered to read up on the subject, instead of just 'believing' stuff, they would realise that the death penalty is not a solution to anything.

This woman did what she could to escape, and I can't condemn her for it. Besides, it looks like there are plenty of people around who will ensure they do all the condemning they can.

I have read up on the subject, and one simple fact remains, when someone is dead they are not at the same time other places commiting crimes.

The woman was allegedly smuggling drugs.  She was prosecuted without legal representation for months and eventually her case was heard behind closed doors in a country where it is routine for airport officals to be accused of smuggling drugs in passengers baggage.  If she faced the death penalty she would face a firing squad.
 
Now lets talk about how effective the death penelty is.

finally :D

Smuggling drugs is a stupid thing to be put to death for, luckily in the US you can be convicted of multiple counts of it and still become the editor of a successful magazine

Now Murder, Rape, and any violent crime that involves a child
that a fair standard for capital punishment?

No country is exempt from corruption.
No country is exempt from mistakes.
 
And the death of someone who caused me or my family harm, is not justice.  It is an easy way out.
