Is it really neceaasry for our troops, family, and friends to be in another country defending someone else when we need our people at home defending us? Who cares if they sit over there and kill each other. We went over there and captured one of the men we had been wanting for a long time. Why do we need to stay. Why can't we just let it cool off for a while and when Osamma thinks that we have forgotten about him, let him come out in the open and go get him? I personally want our troops back home where they belong. they were created to defend our country and they are over in another country and we have nobody to defend us if we were to be struck by a bomb. Remeber Pearle Harbor? What a shame!

michaelGA -> RE: War on Terrorism (2/12/2006 8:11:02 PM)

because this is America and that would be too easy. the mentality of our government is "go to another country and try to take over...in the name of peace and freedom...whether they want it or not"

MistressJenny270 -> RE: War on Terrorism (2/12/2006 8:16:26 PM)

I understand what you are saying. But, it is really stupid on our part to do such a horrific thing. We are killing our men and women. What if they decide to bomb the whole damn country of Iraq with an A bomb with our men and women still there. Who in the hell is going to protect our country then? We are taking care of other countries when our own damn veterans are suffering and the government isn't doing one damn thing to help them. They say they are helping our veterans, but why is there so many of them who have asked for help living on the streets homeless?

Greetings..~smiles~

"they were created to defend our country and they are over in another country and we have nobody to defend us if we were to be struck by a bomb"

Why is it presumed if may ask that the only way our military can defend our country is by staying in our own country? I really do wish that people would take a moment to pause on all this and look at the big picture. Unless there are boots on the ground in our country from another country..the military as a whole won't help here..but they can do a whole lot of good getting foot holds in other hotbeds around the world to try and prevent just that scenerio from happening.

When we were indeed attacked..there is little that combat ready troops can do in the wake of the aftermath. Combat trained and kept ready troops are designed for just that..combat.

Wars suck. They always have..They always will. People are going to die. More people I would gather have died from smoking or heart attacks over these years that we have been in Iraq..then soldiers. People may not like perspectives but sometimes they are needed. Any death is tragic no matter the cause.

I would venture to say also that a vast majority of those troops over there in Iraq and deployed around the world feel a great measure of pride in what they are doing. There will always be those that feel what they are doing out there is not right. There will be those that feel very strongly that what they are doing is right.

whoever said our government was smart...afterall, they are "men". let a woman in there and we won't have this problem, IMHO.

MistressJenny270 -> RE: War on Terrorism (2/12/2006 8:24:10 PM)

That is why if hillary Clinton runs for President I will be the first to be in line to vote for her. I think that we need a woman President for once. Not just because I am a woman, but because I believe that women analyze situations more than men do because it seems to me that men want to show how "MACHO" they are by flexing thier muscles and what power they have when in all actuality they are silently killing our own country.

"the only way to peace is to kill of your enemies"

comparing the unwarranted deaths of humans in war to those who died from smoking and cancer is not balanced as, if you look at all the needless deaths of humans due to war greatly exceeds those who have died from cancer.

michaelGA -> RE: War on Terrorism (2/12/2006 8:35:38 PM)

i agree, the typical male mentaility is "Shoot first and ask questions later" or the ever popular "walk tall and carry a big dick...errrr...stick"
LOL

"I think that we need a woman President for once."

What exactly Ma'am do you think a woman in office can or will do differently or better than any of the Men that have ran this country thus far?

If she meets the qualifications then let her run. Hillary can't do any worse than she did when Mr. Clinton was the presumed figured head.

If it were not for War..(viewed as needless or stupid or wrong by some) Then there wouldn't be an America to begin with.

I for one enjoy having and living in America.

And like I said..perspectives may not feel right to some people..but they are needed.

michaelGA -> RE: War on Terrorism (2/12/2006 8:41:19 PM)

i can answer that...

women think a bit more than men and they don't always have to resort to violence to resolve issues

like George Carlin was often fond of saying, "War is just a dick-waving contest. 'what...they have bigger dicks...BOMB THEM' thus the bigger dick war policy"

History has shown that Matriarchal societies are just as violent (in every sense/form) as their Patriarchal counterparts.

That said, I say bring the troops home, too.

"Get 'em out, and get 'em home!"

MistressJenny270 -> RE: War on Terrorism (2/12/2006 8:59:35 PM)

Just like I said once before, women tend to think more and analyze the situation when men act irrationally. Men tend to want to show off thier muscles and so called power. Women get pregnant, carry the baby for 9 months, birth the baby, raise the baby the best way she knows how and has a very close bond with her child, no matter how the child grows up and acts, and she tends to think before she acts irrationally. Acting without thinking 95% of the time ends up in a disaster, thus war after war after war. And you are right, all we have had are men Presidents and look at the shape our country is in. For once in this country's exsistance, let a woman try to run this country and see if she can do it better. To me, which is only my opinion, men who bash women from running for President are just scared that a woman will actually turn this country around for the better.

michaelGA -> RE: War on Terrorism (2/12/2006 9:04:22 PM)

*thunderous applause*

here, here, Ma'am...i fullt agree and support what You have just said and couldn't have said it better myself.

the majority of men think with the wrong head...that's why they are afraid of having a female President..."no dick to wag...other than a strap-on...LOL"

While I strongly opposed the war and still oppose the administration, I recognize that we went in and messed up a country. There is a certain obligation to clean up one's own messes.

As to whether we could do it or not, THAT I'll admit to having a lot of doubts.

Finally, do you really believe the entire US military is over there? I can't believe anyone could have so little contact with reality.

MistressJenny270 -> RE: War on Terrorism (2/12/2006 9:08:01 PM)

Just look at what happend at Pearl Harbor and look at what happened when we dropped the "A" bomb.

michaelGA -> RE: War on Terrorism (2/12/2006 9:13:06 PM)

the question is not whether or not we "can" do a thing...but whether we "should" do a thing...like war. this is turning into another Viet Nam...staying longer than neccessary.

OK, let's look at the recent women leaders.

Golda Meir... 1973 Yom Kippur War
Margaret Thatcher ... Falklands War
Indira Gandi ... East Pakistan War
Chandrika Kumaratunga... Tamil Tiger insurrectioin

There are plenty of Rambos with overies.

MistressJenny270 -> RE: War on Terrorism (2/12/2006 9:16:36 PM)

Sir, I do not believe that our entire military is over there, but look at what happened when we dropped the atomic bomb on Japan. And to be really honest, if you look at the statistics, the only country that everyone should be worried about is CHINA. If you look at the ratio of their military and ours, we are so outnumbered! Our military and the rest of the wrold's military put together would not have an impact on CHINA'S military. I say that we bring our troops home, let them clean up their own country. Did they come over here and help us clean up the mess at the Twin Towers or the Pentagon? I think not. So, why should we be putting our men and women's lives on the line to help them clean up their country when they are the one's who bombed us? Our so "intelligent" President Gearge Bush sent our troops over there to get the person responsible, instead they retrieved the one we were trying to get for a long time. We tore up their country like they tore up ours, in a sense. We had to pull together as a country and clean up what someone else did to us. Why can't Iraq pull togehter as a country and clean up what we did? An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. We got ahlf of what we wanted, let it go for a little while and we will eventually catch the other half. Let our troops come home and get some rest from all this war and distruction.
