ORIGINAL: ThatDamnedPanda The thing I'd most like to know from the two of them is, just exactly how much shelf space is required to house the complete works of John Norman? I've often wondered, and now we seem to have someone on the forum who can actually give us a definitive answer. *shudder* worst. writer. ever. I dislike his writing style more than Hemingway, and that is saying something. *edited because although I hate Hemingway, his name still deserves to be capitalized. Dislike Hemingway? You heathen, you! He's brilliant. His The Old Man and The Sea is probably one of the best books ever written in English. Not one extraneous word nor any missing. Norman was a professor at Queens College, part of the city universites of New York (CUNY). He was an embarrassment to the school and the rest of the faculty. But as to shelf space, I think there were 29 books, let's say they average 2" thick, makes 58" or 4' 10". A prodigious output, a pity all of it was drivel. Soft porn is how we used to call it.
