Status: offline 		The one I wish I still had was my first, a '58 Chevy Biscayne. Not terribly fast with a 283 4 bbl and a 2 speed auto, but it was comfortable and reliable. Only paid $70 for it but had to replace the windshield and motor mounts to get it on the road, so it was well worth what little I had to put into it. Someone had jammed the nut on the steering wheel, so when the turn signals went out I couldn't get in to fix them so ended up mounting a "left" signal switch and a "right" signal swich on the ashtray and an extra light on each end of the rear bumper to pass inspection.

The vehicle I learned to drive in was my dad's old '49 Chevy pickup. I'd love to have that one back as well. When I was 9 I would drive it in the field while my dad loaded hay on the back of it. Then, later, when I took drivers education I would drive the pickup about 3 miles to a friends house then ride in to school and the driver ed classes with him and his older (licensed) brother.

*snickering*  nah...his wife is making his life a living hell, and that in itself is too much fun to me to stop.  he was a horrid child, and its come back to haunt him in a horrid wife.

to my mind?  worth the cost of the car in solid gold.

Status: offline 		2007 Ford Explorer. It had an arrow on the dashboard that pointed to which side the gas take was on. Small detail, i know...but it keeps you from looking like an idiot at the pump

Status: offline 		One of my favourite subject, cars. It's genetic I've been told. Only 1 sibling (not my father's genetically) does not have motor oil running through their veins. Add to that, in my previous life, I was married to a guy that bought and sold collectible cars and his brother still restores, rebuilds, builds some amazing cars. Well, I've had a pretty awesome automobile owning/driving past.

Of the many many that I've been fortunate to own and/or drive, my favourite was a 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertible. Complete restore from the ground up. White leather interiour, pale butter yellow paint, more chrome than all of today's cars put together. Just looking at that car was an orgasm.

I will never have enough money to have a car like that again, but I adored her.

The other day, I dropped some stuff off at my former brother-in-law's shop.......OMG! I was only going to be there for the time it took to unload, and say a few pleasant words. I left 2 hours later. They have four wrapped and stacked and three in progress. One was a SuperBee that a Mopar lover would give body parts to own.

The people with big money in this country haven't slowed their spending.

Status: offline 		well since I'm young...then well I've tried tons of cars (thank gawd my cousin's car-crazy) however..this one relative of mine has a chevy bel air 1956 now THAT is a car I could kill for omg red with white top n trunk and omgomgomgomgomgomgomgomg *drools* looking beyond perfect and just *faints*

Status: offline 		my best friend and I use to take his moms car out- a 73 caddy.    We were sorta underaged.   We hit 3 states- and put on  3000 miles.   He rolled the odometer back.   


We were caught.

1/2 block from my house.

Two months later has a Hurst shifter, aftermarket tachometer, new hotter plugs, 4:56 rear, Mr. Gasket traction bars (essential for drag racing) Doug's headers M & H slicks and...after running it 'pure' stock and going 13.33 about 117 mph. (1/4 mile) but then with headers and rear...13.04/13.04 then 12.89 about 120mph.  now using all 4 gears.

Wrapped it around a light pole at the drag strip, totaled it, broke two teeth and cut my face up only to see that Geico's lawyers must have missed class one day and because it was ONLY time trials ('non-competitive event')...PAID IT OFF.

Then 1966 Nova SS 327/350 4spd, + + Isky Z60 cam, 780 dual feed Holley, screamed for a while...sold for $1,000.

A 1969 Z28 Headers, 5:57 rear Lakewood bars, M & H slicks...'swallowed' a valve at 7000 rpms, bent 3 rods, tore a whole in the cylinder walls...sold for $1200...yikes !!

Wish I still had them all...ya think ?

Status: offline 		Ohhh those first cars…Mine was a 1952 Plymouth...lol… I loved that flathead8 ...Ugly as sin but it was mine…my freedom.

Its only claim to fame was when a girlfriend decided to play with my favorite toy while I was driving. In the excitement, unknowingly, a hot ash fell from my cigarette into the backset. After a few minutes I noticed smoke then the backset burst into flames before I could stop. I was in the middle of my hometowns business district when I slammed on the breaks…jumped out…pulled the backset from the car and commenced to jump up and down and stomp the fire out drawing a laughing crowd. Now if I had only remembered to put the toy away and zip up my pants.

Status: offline 		1989 Silver Nissan Pulsar, Had the T tops. She was a wonderful car. Last I saw of her some little Mexican Chick had her in Little Rock.

I had to let it go the wheels were coming off and there were some issues with the CV Joints and I couldn't afford to fix it. I am sure the Mexican Chick's dad, brother or boyfriend fixed it in about 5 minuites :( GROAN!

My first car was a '69 Karmann Ghia hardtop.  It was a piece of shit.  The breaks went out on it if you had to come to a quick stop, which was scary at times.  The spring that regulated the gas (I don't know what it's called, I'm not a car guy.) snapped constantly.  I was lucky if it started half the time.  But I wanted a car that ran.  When I was 14, my dad dragged this '62 Triumph TR4 out of someone's back yard.  He swore up and down that we would fix it up and that would be my car.  I think he paid $50 for it.  Of course we never did do it; my dad was constantly starting projects and not finishing them.  Anyway someone offered the VW in a straight trade for the Triumph.  I was 16, had my license, and wanted to drive.  So I jumped on the offer.  It was probably a mistake.  But it was my first car experience. 

My favorite car is the one I'm driving now.  My little '97 Nissan pickup.  I love that little truck.  12 years old, almost 100,000 miles on it, and not a lick of trouble.

WHen he crossed over I got the 1955 Cadillac COUPE de VILLE...the ones where the window is all one when both are down..adn the tail fin flicks up to reveal the gas cap.
One summer bees built a nest in the tailpipe and as I blasted down the road bees flew out with the exhaust..ahahhahaha
 
She was yellow and a massive bitch I called her Marilyn cause she was sexy and classy and had huge breast  bumpers in the front..

After a few years I was unable to maintain her and some rust occured
I worried Marilyn coudl not have the life she was accustomed to....so

.I sold her and cried but I see her tended lovingly in many car shows.
Marilyn has won prizes

I really miss my 93 Tbird LX with it's 5.0 as well.

My ex got the Porsche 914 in the divorce, but since I originally bought and restored it for her, I don't begrudge her for getting it.

closest to 1969 was Lincoln Mark VIII, but the monthly payment spoiled it.
Most fun was Dodge Aspen with T Tops when first married but probably was not just the car.

Status: offline 		My all time favorite car I have ever owned was a 64 GTO, 2 dr hardtop.  It had a 389, tri-power, with a 4 speed.  The serial number was 008.  It was such a cool car.  Dark metallic blue, black interior.  The main problem with it was the tri-power.  So hard to keep tuned.  But when it was, damn would it go!
