vasha -> what are you? and more importantly, why (6/23/2009 8:32:44 PM)

this idea, or one like it, im sure has been asked.  still,  i am curious... so here goes-

sub, slave, pet, bottom, or other: how exactally do you all define yourselves?  regardless of how anyone else may do so... yes, even your Dom or Domme.  why?

i know how my owner defines me... and i dont agree.  mostly for my own reason,  wich i may get into later, but ild like to know yours. please. and espcially ild like to know if your personal self definition differs from that of your owners of you,  and why.

Thankyou very much,
~Vasha

i'm a bottom who is selectively submissive. if they define me as anything different, well, that's their problem[;)]

I have many labels. I am Legion, and I contain multitudes.

Seriously, I started out as a sub/slave, became a husband, a lover, an occasional Dominant, then went back to being a sub for awhile.... Now I'm quite comfy with my being a bisexual switch. I'm primarily attracted to women, and I go for the submissive role about 70% of the time... But, When someone crosses my path who hits all the right buttons, I'm amazed how quickly I can adapt myself, simply because I'm attracted to them so strongly.

I always identify myself as a submissive.  I like to obey and follow those I choose to do so.  I rarely like to lead or give orders unless it's earning me money, lol!  [:D]

As long as I am his, I am me.

I'm an ordinary person who chose to be in a relationship where he has authority over me and my life. I'm not *submissive* to any startling degree and don't have any particular drive to *serve*.

I am simply me; I have no need to define myself...I leave that to everyone else [8D]

I'm a sadomasochist... more maso then sado though

leadership527 -> RE: what are you? and more importantly, why (6/24/2009 5:44:09 AM)

I originally identified Carol as my slave. She wasn't real comfortable with that. In her ears, the explicit statements of total control were frightening. Over time, that fear has become minimal although there are still bits & pieces of it there. Over time, I have come to a more nuanced understanding of what our relationship actually looks like.

Truthfully, in her own head, she doesn't define herself any particular way. She's not all that intersested in BDSM and all it's related jargon. I suspect that she has always just been 'my wife who wants to please me'. Now, that definition has been modified somewhat to, 'my wife who wants to please me and knows a great way to do so is to give herself to me - literally'. For her, I think, it's all just a question of being carol, pleasing me, and learning to let go of her ego enough to belong to someone else.'

I can't help but think there's a secondary/deeper question here vasha. Would you care to spill the beans?

DesFIP -> RE: what are you? and more importantly, why (6/24/2009 6:19:38 AM)

Submissive to one.

AngelGeena -> RE: what are you? and more importantly, why (6/24/2009 6:26:57 AM)

It's hard to define me, and i dont like labels. But in one word, proudly, His! I am submissive, with a smart mouth, to Him, I am just me to everyone else.

zaphira is property. This is also how Master refers to zaphira. Despite how your question was phrased, zaphira would change her definition if Master desired her to do so. This slave IS defined by how her owner see's her.

I am whatever Master chooses. In general I am his slave and his property.

*chuckles* Of course, just to be a pill, I feel compelled to point out that you HAVE in fact, defined yourself. Your view of yourself is "a woman who is defined by her owner". And when you think about it, there is nothing your owner can do to change that. In the end, you too are who you want to be.

*grins*
Of course, if your desire is to be extremely technical to the extreme; you would be partially correct. zaphira would not be 'who she wanted to be'; she would be that which nature and educational training had turned her into.

However, the OP was not looking for technicalities; therefore, zaphira allows Master to determine the 'definitions' that would apply to this slave.

littleone35 -> RE: what are you? and more importantly, why (6/24/2009 8:38:33 AM)

I am His. If you are looking for a label i would say i am a submissive to him alone.
Master calls me sweetheart that is how i see myself as his sweetheart. I am always me though, that is the person Master fell in love with.

sleazybutterfly -> RE: what are you? and more importantly, why (6/24/2009 9:17:09 AM)

Some days I am his submissive, other days his slave, every day his wife.

I am who I am, and that even differs in my head from day to day.

I am mostly a loving wife, who likes to take care of her husband.

I think he see's me as someone that loves him enough to do what pleases him.

In the end, I don't really care what others think of our dynamic, I only care what he and I think.  One thing I have learned is to never let anyone else define who I am.  I hold the reigns to what I choose to be, if that doesn't fit in with what others think I am, we probably don't belong together anyway.

i am maia - His. i identify as His slave in training and Chairman does as well. i identify as a slave rather than a sub simply because our definition of slave is one who makes one decision - to be owned. After that my responsibility is to keep myself emotionally, physically and mentally fit to be of the utmost service to my Master.

daddysprop247 -> RE: what are you? and more importantly, why (6/24/2009 1:22:53 PM)

i am a submissive because that is my personality and just seems to be the way i was wired from birth,

i am a slave because i belong to another person, my life, future and destiny are entirely subject to his will.

i'm very shy, somewhat timid, the big bad world kinda frightens me yet fascinates me endlessly, especially the individual human beings within it. i'm a slut (not in any sexy dirty-talk way, just the literal way). i'm a bookworm. i'm a cat person. i'm just me. *shrug* my Master would define me in all the same ways, expect perhaps he would have stated slave first and foremost. He might throw something in there about being his precious little girl and a big-time picklehead, but that's probably not something you care about, lol.

vasha my question for you would be, why do you disagree with your Master's vision of you? do you think he does not see the truth, the real you, or is it more that you do not accept or wish to accept what you are?

ACryFromTheSoul -> RE: what are you? and more importantly, why (6/24/2009 2:35:22 PM)

I am myself first and foremost. smile

I usually label myself as submissive, but most likely fall closer in line with the definition of a slave.
