Tragedy + Time = Comedy. In inverse proportions... Thus, the greater the tragedy and the shorter the time, the greater the comedy. Also, the viciousness of the attacks is in direct proportion to how annoying the celeb was. Notice that there are no mean-spirited Farah jokes going around. In fact, the only Farah joke I've seen is actually a Michael Jackson joke: When Farah arrived at the Pearly Gates, St Peter greeted her and told her that because she had lead her life with such integrity that she would be granted 1 wish upon entering heaven. Farah thought for a moment and said she wanted all children everywhere to be safe. A minute later, Michael Jackson appeared. So if Michael Jackson had died at the height of his stardom in the 80's, before all the surgeries, skin bleaching, Lisa Marie, Bubbles, Blanket, etc, there would have been very few attacks, just a sense of loss. But since he went completely whacko he's fair game. And as for Mr. May, yes, it's a loss for his family -a death always is- but it's a gain for anyone who watches TV. Any chance we can get that other info-mercial kid up in a plane...? As Dennis Leary once said: Stevie Ray Vaughan is dead and we can't get Jon Bon Jovi up in a helicopter?! Happy Sunday, folks... ~Dave
