LMAO.

There are many people who would not care if Willie Kicked the Bucket I would. His Pot Smoking Hippe Status isn't really an issue for me just putting out some of the nasty comments that could have been made before they got started.

By the way

Your Post reminded me of a song

None of them as I realize they are humans and are going to die, like we all will. But I do have to admit to a slight feeling of sadness when they do pass. As my old favorites from youth pass on it is a reminder of my own end which approaches ever closer each day.

Leonard Nimoy, William Shatner (Yes I am a Star Trek fan), Jodie Foster, Johnny Depp, it will be a sad day when they pass.

For me, it tends to be writers.
I miss the hell out of Caroline Knapp.

I think Robert Redford will be a surprise, but Clint Eastwood ... I still don't see how it is possible for him to be 79.

Musicians:
Ronnie Gilbert and of course Pete Seeger.
Joan Baez
Janis Ian

None of them. However, I'd throw a party if the world would get rid of Pete Doherty.

I am sure you are not alone with that one. Never understood what the point of him is.

For me as others have said no celebrity death would "rock my world" except for a couple who are personal friends. I would be very sad at Martin Sheen, Garth Brooks and Alice Cooper but not to the point of grieving.

Prince's death would cause this slave to mourn...can't think of any other celebrities this slave would feel that way about, though.

his music has been a big part of the soundtrack of this slave's life...AND this slave would miss having the potential opportunity to see him perform...and that has been a fabulous treat, every time!

When I ever manage to meet you two (yes I know I messed it up recently) then I musn't forget to bring my prince CD to you...I got one about 20 years ago when I was in music club where I had to purchase every month a CD..which itself was fine to me...just when you forget to do so, you get one they decide and I got...prince...something I never was bothered about...it's still in the cupboard in my parents home...in it's dusty CD-box...

my celebrity is unknown to you (I suppose) as he is Reinhard Mey, which is a damn good songwriter and singer in Germany. He will be a loss for our music once he is gone and I sadly missed out to go to his concert last year (he tours every two years, is in his sixties now). Probably the only musician my whole family likes...no technical stuff in his background...no band to make up his vocals...just him, his guitar and damn good texts about pretty much everything in humans life.

and yep Susie...I agree to that one

So, when and where is that party going to happen??? [;)]

PyrotheClown -> RE: What celebrity death would rock your world? (6/29/2009 11:36:42 AM)

haha, it depends, do you mean people I know who happen to be celebrities( like eric burden) or random strangers I idolize(like tome waits)?

... Either way, never got to cut up over deaths, it's some times tragic yeah, but it's inevitable from the moment you're born, and like sex, there's always times when it horrible(like rape, and the young die'n young) but some times it's beautiful (when some ones end comes, and they've already had a great life).

All these celeb deaths are just a Cia cover up any way

The government is having celebrity death matches in the basement floors of the pentagon in order to create the worlds greatest cultural icon killing machine.. My moneys is on john rivers, all her limbs are expendable, if she looses one, it just grows back in like five minutes...

scarlethiney -> RE: What celebrity death would rock your world? (6/29/2009 12:53:43 PM)

Any one I think who is young like Travolta with children. Hanks is another. I think about Natasha Richardson's sons and how difficult at their ages it will be to grow up without the mother they knew most of their young lives.
I love Sean Connery, Harrison Ford, Andy Garcia, Dustin Hoffman, Al Pacino. Losing these people would ruin my year.

Oh wow, someone else into Janis Ian. I listen to her music still alot.

Back to the question:)

Clint Eastwood's death would be sad to me.

I just don't get that attached to celebrities, but I have to admit that losing Anne McCaffrey will be disturbing. She's the reason I started writing fiction, and she, Mercedes Lackey, Robert Heinlein (already deceased), and Holly Lisle are the reason I hung with science fiction/fantasy as my medium.

Losing any of them would leave an ache, because they've had such an impact on my professional writing life.

Ace Frehley.

windchymes -> RE: What celebrity death would rock your world? (6/29/2009 3:28:01 PM)

It already happened.  Steve Irwin, the Croc Hunter. I still cry when I see the old reruns, can't really watch them, actually.[:(][:(][:(]

I think if anything happened to Cesar Millan, the Dog Whisperer, I'd feel the same way.

Hey, I know him, and yes, he is good.

Well, their death would not rock my world, but I would be sad to see
Sean Connery,
Harrison Ford,
Jonny Depp,
Jim Butcher,
Alan Rickman (That voice, oh my gosh! That voice!),
Jodie Foster,
any of the bandmembers of A-HA
and a good deal of others pass.

Since we've seemed to have such an outbreak of them lately, which celebrity death would rock your world?

For Me, it would be either Tom Hanks or John Travolta.

Who would it be for you?

Don't know if this was the premise of the question or not but....

I'd like to see the lead singer of Queen back....and of course, John Lennon....performing with the other 3...

I've often wondered what the world of music would be like if we could have had just 3 more years....of either.

I keep crossing my fingers in hope of that jackass Dog the Bounty Hunter walking into the path of some well deserved gunfire.  As for a celebrity death that would make me feel bad, can't really think of one.

man I was lucky to see Tull live in SF...

My ex and I saw him (Tull) in Ottawa when she was about 7 months along carrying our first UM. The little bugger was hopping and bopping away in time with the music in the womb. The ex said it was a very strange accompaniment to the show
