My slave does the dishes unless she is sick. Often each of us will pitch in a small amount as far as clearing the table and such.

I'm sure "everyone's answer will be different".

Just curious about how people view mundane chores like this within the context of their relationships.

While Mistress does most of the cooking.
I do the dishes, set the table and clean up the kitchen.

When I'm not home, Mistress will do all that.
Master doesn't do dishes. If he's home alone and grabs something to eat, he'll leave the dishes in the sink.

I wouldn't want it any other way though, just the idea of Master doing dishes freaks me out.

At the moment I do the dishes. My housemate just looks so sad when he knows it's his turn.
When I was in a relationship I did the dishes, unless he wanted them done faster so we could do other things.
When I lived with with my parents, foster parents, and adopted parents, I did the dishes.

One day, someone will invent a dishwasher that's not bad for the environment, and I will buy one. That's The Dream.

I would be distinctly uneasy at the idea of a man doing dishes, let alone touching the laundry.
But if someone really wanted to disabuse me of the notion, well, then...

If I have a sub there, the sub does the dishes.

Currently, as I have no sub living in, either the vanilla roommate does them, or I do them, on the basis that I am the cook who made the mess so I get to clean it up. Which I don't mind...I'd rather do dishes than laundry. I just apparently stand wrong while doing dishes, because my back always bitches at me and I have to go twist myself into a pretzel so that it releases.

Rarely me, even more rare M., sometimes B., but usually the pet, or our "Rent'a'Mexican".  The last one is said totally with love and good clean fun, and he is Mexican, so don't even start.  He needs some extra $$ while looking for actual work, and we're busy and don't mind helping him out, so he comes and does some cleaning for us.

Fox does dishes, and he vacuums. Those are his two things. I do laundry. We share most of the rest of the cleaning around the apartment, be it tidying up, or cleaning up after Akuma. I just hate dishes and cant deal with the noise of vacuuming, and so they fell to him.

Greetings afterforever,

Actually, studies have shown that dishwashers are better for the environment the washing dishes by hand, because dishwashers use less heat, water and soap then the average human dishwasher.

Something to think about....

I wish you well,

ishy

In my house and family, there has never been any gender bias when it comes to chores. I wanted all to be fully self sufficient. They are. I actually think less of a man that can't, and won't, do dishes or laundry.

I leave little notes beside the kettle for the youngies, saying * Please do the dishwasher, lads*.

Sounds like a request..........but we all know it isn't.

We, as a twosome, don't tend to do any mundane chores apart from re-arranging the bed.

Good point, LaT.
My feeling on that kind of thing is a direct result of my raising.
I wouldn't even know what to think of a man that did dishes or laundry...except that maybe he was from another planet.

I cook, he cleans; or he cooks and I clean. I pretty much always end up doing something to make his work more fun, though.

That's my job. My Mistress (24/7 and also my wife) does a few chores, but generally I try to free up Her time. So we often seem a "normal" couple where I do certain chores (cleaning bathroom, making the beds, garbage etc...). But She sometimes surprises me : like the few times we came from a restaurant and She ordered me not to go to sleep before I cleaned all the floors (with water and soap).

When clip is here, he does them.  In fact, he does most of the chores in the main part of the house.  Due to the fact that MP and I don't have submissives in the bedroom (which connects to the master bathroom) of the home, the chores in those areas are basically Mine.  Some things I'll do with him, such as laundry or the groceries.

If I cook he does them, if he cooks I do them. Makes sense to us!!

I do the dishes and all the cleaning at my apartment. MasterK does the dishes and cleaning at his except occasionally when he has me dress in a maid uniform and do some cleaning.

Well we have it arranged that when I cooked, she did the dishes and when she cooked she cleaned up after herself!

I do the dishes, the housework & cleaning, blah blah blah, and I like it that way.  I love doing all that stuff and my friends think I'm crazy because I do.  Unless we're ordering in, then Sir and I take turns paying.  lol
